Fosa

Newbie
Can u suggest me the best custom rom to flash at my s3 and how???my phone is rooted and i want to know how and which custom rom should i flash !

Thank you!

Hi, Custom ROMs are very much a personal preference so it would be presumptuous for anyone to say their choice is the best custom ROM out there. I'd recommend you to go over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1563 and check out the device appropriate development section. There you'll find lots of threads for custom ROMs and I would strongly recommend to read the OPs (original posts), which will detail the ROM including some photos of what the UI is like. then move on through the thread to see what users are saying about any glitches or serious shortcomings and so on.

I am currently on the Omega v35 ROM which is stock based but has many mods to make it a very good all-rounder. I have combined this with a custom kernel from Siyah v1.8.6, which gives the whole package unparalleled stability and good battery performance. But remember, this is my choice for my device - just because we use the same device does not always mean the identical performance, etc.

As always, the choice is yours! Good luck.

As above, you need to flash a few and see what you like.
You have a choice of sammy stock, sammy customised, AOSP and AOKP and a mixand match of all 3!
I've settled on CodecRom at the moment as it has sammy base and features, but looks and feels like AOSP.
But flash away and find out what you like!

I am also running the same config and i love it.

I went back to stock, tried omega and found it a bit buggy, the odd freeze and lock up. Stock is so stable i love it, yet to find a ROM i really wanna try,

personaly im waiting for a finished AOSP rom and tbh im waiting till the phone starts to be outdated before i really mod it.
justnow im on official 4.1.2 but rooted and usin a custom kernal clocked at 1.5ghz n its runnin quite nicely... bit snappier than stock 1.4 but no freezes.
the s3 doesnt need modded yet. its one of the best phones ever made (other than the cutesy design imo) :)

I lied.
Im runnin Neat Rom by Salesale and Sydia kernel.
Havent really tested battery yet.. it feels lovely at 1.6ghz (global).
Benchmarks are nothin special but it feels nice :)
(TW based)

I still cant decide if i want AOSP type rom or TW based..... its a hard decision.
Im liking Neat rom with Sydia justnow but whats the most complete AOSP rom i can try?
Again i apologise if ive been told this (cannabis psychosis from when i was like 12)

I want a good AOSP to have on dual boot. Im guessin Cyanogen is best? (Ive never tried one of thier mods in like 2-3 yrs of android)
What i CBA with is nightlys, bluetooth or camera not workin etc but with dual boot id use Neat Rom as my "daily driver" (man i hate that expression lol, it sounds like Jerry ******** from AC lol)

Can i ask something and hope SU or SG dont catch me coz i know ive asked them before.... where are nandroid saved?

funky if u happen to use tasker SU has created a really great profile to automate the backups for nandroid with a max of 2 backups.

Hows that running (besides the SIM PIN issue)? Mines running well it seems. Better since adding the time and manual backup icon.

I looked up CyanogenMod10.1:GT-I9300 but i dont think i can use it as it does not have support for Xfat partition which i need for my 64gb micro sd card. There are a few knowin issues with 10.1. copied them below

Camera: Recording effects broken
Camera: Touch 2 focus issues with enabled flashlight
Graphics: bad performance, scrolling lags, keyboard glitches
FM Radio: unsupported. Use Spirit FM Radio from Play Store instead.
TV Out: unsupported (proprietary, undocumented)
No exFAT support (proprietary, Microsoft)
