Root [International] Cant seem to be able to delete Clockworkmod folder (or its contents) from internal sd

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
Title says it all.
A factory reset didnt remove it, ES file explorer refuses uploadfromtaptalk1367143506471.jpg
Any ideas peeps? Its a huge chunk of storage uploadfromtaptalk1367143631578.jpg
Deleting the files contained doesnt work either.
Cheers

Unmount it, take it out of the phone, mount onto a computer, delete it that way? Have you tried formatting it using the Storage portion of the phones Internal Settings?

Sorry mate its internal storage (sdcard0)
also, im not a computer person lol :)
any idea how to delete the bastard just using the phone?

Either/or mate. I dont need the backups and im tryin to free up some memory. Cant understand why it wont delete. Any ideas?

I've never tried deleting the whole folder myself, if I want to make some space I just go into that folder, then to backup, and delete the backup directly

Honestly I'm a bit stumped myself as you should just be able to delete the folder with any file explorer. Maybe a corrupt folder or something.

Can you delete the backups from within recovery or via a pc?

Have you enabled root access in EStrongs?

Only thing that makes sense is that your internal storage is not a vFAT partition and some files in your CWM folder have a permissions problem.

Personally, I'd copy out all the contents of the internal memory, then format that partition.

Unless the factory reset stated above is the same thing, that should work. I've had to do this with external SD cards that got files like this stuck on them, never had it happen to internal memory tho. :o

@EM: do you think fixing permissions from recovery would do anything?

Are you able to create files/folders on your sdcard? Just need to make sure the sdcard hasn't gone bad.

Also, we need proper error output to get a better idea of the situation. Are you able to run scripts as root with Root Explorer? If not, install Script Manager or BootBuddy, then download and run this script as SU (root user).

That script will attempt to delete the folder, then it will collect some information about your filesystem. It will send all output to a file named /mnt/sdcard/cwm_delete.log

Copy that log output to us

Thanks everyone. i woke up with a brainwave lol. just now im moving the files to external sd and it seems to be working so ill let u all know if it doesnt work and ill try the (frankly scary lol) things suggested :)

Got it peeps :)
"Moving" it only copyd it grr so i tried deleting backup in recovery, again it said "no file found" but it somehow halfed in size, then i tried deleting in file manager and it worked. Completely gone :)
