Root [International] Change Power button function?

im looking for a way to stop the Power button from waking the phone but i dont wana disable it. I still want it to turn the screen off.
Anyone know how?

Make a android before trying this. Then go to /system/usr/keylayout and open gpio_keys.kl in the text editor and delete WAKE from the line key 116 POWER WAKE. Then reboot.

For some reason that doesn't seem to work for the power button The only way I've managed to stop it turning the screen on is by adding a # to the beginning of the line but that completely disables the button so not very useful.

I'd have thought it would be possible. Honestly I have no idea why the method doesn't work for the power button when the exact same thing works perfectly for the home button. Maybe it would be worth asking sale in the NeatROM thread as if anyone round here knows I'm sure he would.

Lol i should have said in the op brer. I have no problem with Home waking the phone, thats what i use and when the phones in my pocket, i use a flip case and im anti-skinny jean so home never wakes the phone accidentaly but im one of those people with a nearvous habit of putting my hands in my pockets lol and i keep hitting the power button. The case i use has open sides and the button is really sensetive :beer:

Found a nice alternative. in STweaks, in Screen settings, ive checked the "slide2wake" function which wakes the phone at wherever you left it by swiping a thumb across the sleeping screen
Just have to train my brain to to remember now lol.

Aand, just realised i replied to the wrong thread lol :banghead:
Meant it to be the one where i ask how to make the Home button wake the display without returning to home lol. Sowwy :beer:
