Root [International] Cyanogen Mod

Exactly what I was afraid of. Vol Up started working and I was able to flash stock firmware using Odin, now my phone is stuck in the bootloader as I need to go into recovery mode and wipe/factory reset. Now Vol Up isn't working and I'm unable to do so therefore I'm stuck in the bootloader. What can I do?

No, the phone just restarts after the Samsung logo, it does not go any further ahead. I don't understand what you mean

It does work only if you press really hard (I tried while the ROM was working and then Download mode too) but I don't exactly know how hard to press it. Also, since you have to hold it, that's pretty hard to do. Think the only solution is to send it back to the carrier. I don't think they'll know I have custom software since they can't go to download mode and then press up

Hey man. Whats happening now? Have you got any further? You are without doubt the unluckiest android dude ever lol :p

I dont understand why when if the volume up works with touchwiz, it doesnt work with aosp but it sometimes does if you push hard  if it was a software thing, it wouldnt matter how hard you push it and if it was a hardware thing, it wouldnt work with TW

Just throwing thoughts out there, but it could be a driver issue.

Those are closed source, and have to be reverse engineered/hacked together on an AOSP ROM. Every phones different, and it may not play nicely with your hardware version

Its not totally hardware related if it works fine on touchwiz. Its some combination of blame with the AOSP ROM you're using.

Ahh you could be onto something there bro.
Any idea how to get into recovery without a volume up button? Or how to select Yes in download mode?

LOL I sure am. But FORTUNATELY, I pressed REALLY hard on the Vol Up button and tried my best and got into Samsung recovery mode (this is after I unrooted and installed TW) YES! and now I'm running Samsung OFFICIAL TouchWiz. Now I can send my phone out for a repair. Hahaha so I might not be the unluckiest lol, however the button actually is a hardware issue, I have figured it out. It doesn't work with Touch Wiz

Nice one man but id try and hide your tracks before returning it. In Europe, legally, rooting doesnt void your warranty unless it can be proven that thats what caused the fault but samsung will dispute that.
Ive never had to use it but look into using the Triangle Away app to reset your flash counter (you have to be rooted to use it and then flash stock touchwiz)
I hope youre gona root and flash the new phone when u get it?:)

I did use Triangle Away and tried to reset the counter, in download mode now it says system status is official, firmware is Samsung however under custom binary it says yes and 1 counts. I tried to reset that but it didn't work. However my phone carrier, how will they be able to access that if Volume Up doesn't work?

Tbh i dont know how far they look into it mate. Yeah the counter should be at zero. I just dont want your warranty to fail. I feel bad enough that we're maybe responsible for breaking your phone lol

As I mentioned above, there are other ways to get into download mode.

They can likely plug your device into a machine and get all that information faster than the volume down+power method.

Whether or not they'll check is anyone's guess.

There's actually a menu in most touchwiz ROMs I've been on that will display whether the system status is official or not.
