Root [International] DjeMBeY ROM's i9505 - Dummies Guide

Just a note, my post applies to his roms in post #2 on his thread, which are the ones I always install (old bootloader etc) via CWM
with regards to the roms in post #1, these have the new bootloader, and are odin flashed. The only difference between these ones and sammmobile are that dejembeys ones are rooted,.

DjeMBeY's GT-I9505 Modified Stock ROM - CWM/TWRP/PhilZ flashable ZIP, MKE ROM is up! :)

Build date: 27 Nov: Changelist = MK8's

See post #1 for download links and instructions.

So far, MKE is on a par with MK8... and so it should be... they have the same changelist and are virtually identical, save for one important thing...

If you go to Settings > More > About device > Build number... there is an, "E", on the end instead of an, "8". ;)

I've been getting a strange problem since MK8.
I disable Bluetooth overnight, but when it's disabled. the device doesnt go into deep sleep. It gets stuck on 384Mhz. The associated wakelock seems to be "Bluesleep"
If I keep Bluetooth enabled, then deep sleep seems to be fine.

I've only found fixes for this for ICS ROMs. These "fixes" don't seem to apply to JB as they manipulate files not present on JB ROMs.

I've just installed MKE, but I don't think this will solve this issue, being essentially the same firmware.

Is anyone else getting this, and is there a solution?

ok im going for this. First flash in months. (ooer) . But this is a special flash being that it is one to brave the world of Knox for the first time. Am I flashing this as I have any other? I guess ill see the counter change or not afterwards.

If you're on MEA then flashing the DjeMBeY stock Modified MKE, see #1.3 in post #1, version won't give you Knox and doesn't give you a locked bootloader... win, win! :D

P.S. Don't forget to flash the modem first via Odin and check it's working. See post #144 for flashing details. Just amend the ROM and modem.

Chicken dinner!

I was worried as my Nexus 7, I just ordered was going to be more up to date than my S4 :P

EDIT: and it is done. Without a hitch On download mode there is a 0x30 thingy top left but nothing saying KNOX. Other than that , wifi fix applied and all in order. :)

Rom turns out to be a stinker for me. Re flashed from scratch twice and both times the cam app doesnt record , videos will not play and the mic doesnt work in S Voice. Stinker!!!

Taken from DjeMBeY ROM xda thread, post #2...

WARNING:
Do NOT use WiFi FIX from JB 4.3 on old NON-KNOX bootloaders from 4.2.2 (MH1 downwards)!!
It won't help and can break SOUND!!

This is how DjeMBeY broke sound, etc; on his phone and had to send it in for repair.

Coming from Android 4.2.2 or another ROM, a clean install needs to be done at the outset.

My suggestion would be to flash a stock Samsung Android 4.2.2 firmware and check sound, video, camera, etc and then, if working, do a clean install of the DjeMBeY ROM.

Sorry for panic stations last night. I do ot to myself every time but some how I "fixed it" myself by wiping and reflashing MGA. Then rebooting and re-flashing the MGA wifi fix. Feel like an unfortunate Guniea pig but maybe I offered some kind of help to would be flashers in future.

Hello i have s4 tmobile phone. Is it safe if i will install this rom on my phone? Thanks. Just want to make it sure.

Providing that you meet the criteria in #1.0 and the caveat in #2.0, then, Yes!

Please read posts #1, #2 and #3, carefully and thoroughly before flashing.

talexop Kernel v1.3 with MKE ramdisk is up! :)

Having used talexop's MJ5 kernel on all the DjeMBeY 4.3 ROMs so far, I look forward to seeing how this one performs. Very basic, no frills, no add on tweaker apps, it just does what it says on the tin. For me, it out-performs Ausdim, ktoonsez and faux123.

My thanks go to Hawker for bringing this to my attention.

Finding this more stable with mke rom and also even better on battery.....with swapping if you're on mke

Says its locked bootloader so irreversible to 4.2 if we ever need to go back to stock

Just curious, but apart from tripping Knox is that an issue anymore? If your original stock firmware has updated to 4.3 and you can download it from SamMobile I can't see a problem unless you need Knox, or am (and it won't be the first time) I missing something?

On a personal note I wish somebody would give DjeMBeY a Note 3, I think his deodexed pre rooted ROMs are fabulous.

OK Richie101... One last time!

The, "Pre-Rooted STOCK FW - Odex - KNOX 0x1", ROMs that are flashed via Odin, have the new bootloader and the Knox security flag will be tripped. See, #2.0

The, "GT-I9505 Modified & Stock ROMs - CWM/TWRP/PhilZ flashable ZIP:", ROMs flashed via custom Recovery, do not have the new bootloader and Knox is removed. See, #2.10.

No, that's about it really dynomot. Knox Security & locked bootloader on new firmwares

You leave DjeMBeY alone and go and play with your Hobbit phablet! ;)

ROFL - Hobbit Phablet!

I may be pestering these hallowed (and used, tumble weed city in the Note 3 root forum :( ) forums sooner than your think. They who bought my SGS4 have been "playing", already and now want me to stick a stock rooted ROM on it. Me, I can't be bothered with such small screened "older" devices anymore.

Seriously it was a close run thing which device I kept and came down to my colleague's choice in the end. He thought my Note 3 too big too.

My bad was looking only at front page thinking it be on there

Horses for courses I guess. Aqua is a nice interface.

Ok so for me thr stock Email app force closes. And when I recieve a text I sometimes get exchange service failed pop up.

Also texts dont display the senders name on the pop up. Only a generic Text message label.

Could this be a bad flash or a common issue with th3 current build?

Clear its cache from application manager and re set up - worked for me when I did a "dirty" flash a while ago.
