Exactly. I had mine rooted and ready to go in under 10 minutes.

Are they actually unlocked already? Even with the Nexus you still have to unlock the bootloader, even though it is easy it still needs to be done.

So is the Galaxy S3 not like that? Not saying it is locked down tight like HTC phones.

Bootloader comes unlocked. Nothing to do but make sure you have the drivers on your computer, load ODIN, put phone in download mode and install the correct files...
