Seems we're not the only ones according to the xda thread. Too much of a nuisance for me as it was happening intermittently and affecting all sorts of features on the phone that I use. Tried Sensor Hub Test in *#0*# but that didn't help. Reverted to MJ5 last night and no problems.

Will probable stick at the moment, but just in case, did you swap back modem too? And dirty or full wipe first?

Flashed the MJ5 modem via Odin before restoring a nandroid of MJ5. Originally, I did a cache and dalvik wipe to go from MJ5 to MJ8. No full wipe. It seems that friedrich's Slim version is not stock Slim, as tschulieh's MJ5 is, but rather a hybrid of the stock and themed ROM's with things like transparent backgrounds and the, very, full screen caller included. I wish that friedrich had kept the stock Slim as... well, stock.

Yup. I know it's not great form to whinge about a devs work.....BUT.....this slim version is really no improvement on previous versions and is just not quite right. I've now flashed zips to revert to stock caller, stock lock screen light effect, stock non transparent framework, stock camera etc etc and there's the sensor services fc's. Previous versions were great and just worked out if the box.
Hope tschulieh returns in the future......

I'm still on v5, and I think I shall be sticking until a new base+changelist emerges with a supported 3minit.
Seems like there is now a new MJ7 up with a much bigger changelist:

Probably only regional apps, but this seems like a huge changelist jump to me.

It was 4 minutes previous to your post here actually butty, but in your defence, it probably did take you longer than that to type out all those letters knowing your one-finger typing skills!

For those of you who have had trouble with Adaway since 4.3, (Adaway v2.2 seems to work best for me by the way) then take a look at this thread
This downloads its own version of the hosts file that directs its known ads etc. to localhost (which is all that Adaway does)
The hosts file here is around 12Mb, wheras my current Adaway-hosts file is approx 800kb, so its blocking way more stuff.
Just make sure you remove the following 2 lines from its host file, as these appear to host some Google Play images:
lh5.ggpht.com
gstatic.com
Just remember if you manually copy /system/etc/hosts ensure permissions is rw-r--r-- (644)
I've frozen Adaway (as even with 2.2 its still not perfect....downloads seem to take ages) and using this hosts file instead.

When I was on Echoe ROM I immediately flashed the faux123 kernel which gave me very good results on the default settings for my usage. However, I did experience a couple of freezes and switched to talexop which proved to be even better. I now use this on my DjeMBeY Slim MK8 ROM and couldn't be happier. See, here.
