Sammobile.com then press "firmware" on the top row of tabs. When the page loads on the second row of tabs, press "firmwares and files".

About half way down the page is a filter (drop down menus) where you set "smartphone", "android", "s3 gt-i9300" and "united kingdom - BTU" then press send... these are all unbranded uk roms. Get the newest

As the legend above means, flashing an official firmware will remove root access, and custom kernel.

What does "flash count" mean SU and where do we find it mate?

use the triangle away app on play. Flash count counts how many unofficial flashes your device has had. This is used by samsung as a get-out clause

Just to clarify, is the following the correct way to completely "unroot" and get back to stock?

  • Run TriangleAway
  • Flash stock firmware from Sammobile via recovery (doesn't increase count?)

That will leave the phone as official as possible, correct? Not planning on doing it right now, but just for future reference.

You should really be running triangle away now anyway.

Official roms flashed via Odin (not mobile Odin)

Yep.... check and if neccessary, fix your flash count...

If your phone breaks now and you're unable to run triangle away, you could be in trouble

Only way to tell is via Triangle Away? I don't have a triangle on boot, and device status is "Normal".

Not trying to argue, again just interested. Will download Triangle Away now.

Download mode shows it, and sure enough:

Custom binary: Yes (1 count)

There's been a recent update to Triangle Away (Note 2 support), and it warns you in the description that the app could completely brick your device - might hold off for a few more reviews of the latest version first!

Thanks once again SU.
