Root [International] GS4 Wipe Scripts

cool .. i just said coz that would mean having to keep only one file .. lesser files to manage is a good thing since now you have so many scripts .. before there were just 2 :)

Nice idea schizovivek but... every time Hawker updated any one of his scripts, I'm guessing you'd want an update and every time Aroma changed you'd want anthor update as well.

Alternatively, you can just create just one file on your SD card called, say, "ZZZHawker scripts", so that it appears somewhere near the bottom of the SD card, and just place all 7 of his scripts in there until you need them and you can then update each and every one as soon as there is a new release and you are not affected by any changes to Aroma mods and you do not have to rely on Hawker being sober. ;)

the naming convention is exactly what i do now .... :D
 
I put a copy of every flashable zip I do on the phone under a folder called ZZ flashing zips. In this folder there are subfolders called "mods", "Kernels", "ROMS" and "Hawker's scripts", dead easy to find from CWM and I know what I have flashed instantly. Any new versions of those previously flashed get put in their respective sub folder and the old one goes to a USB stick with exactly the same named folder and sub folder. Belt and braces approach, but it works for me.
 
I wish I was as organised as you guys, everything remains in the download location. It kind of adds an air of risk to flashing as you can never be sure you actually flashed the right thing until your phone boots:)
 
I've finally managed to pinpoint as to why the entire sdcard gets wiped in the nuke/wipe/reset operations.
Turns out on the gs4, within /data there is a link to sdcard, so when wiping /data this would in turn wipe /sdcard.
I'm working on a major rewrite in the way the zips interact with the script, so that in future one update to the script will affect all zips. The thinking behind this is once you have all the cwm zips you want, you will only ever need to download the core script for any update and this will affect every one of my cwm scripts that you run.
The bug fix will be incorporated into this new rewritten version and should be available in the next few days.
 
All scripts have been updated and now use my new Core system.

In summary, you will initially need to flash GS4HawkerCoreV1.zip, and then copy all the individual zips you require onto your GS4. These use the core that GS4HawkerCore installs.
This now means in future, when updates are issued, only the core will ever need to be flashed again, and all the individual zips that you flash will automatically be using the updated version.

complete wipe of /sdcard problem still present.
this is doing my piggin loaf in now.

i've removed romnuke, romwipe and romreset off the download site until further notice.
 
It appears wiping entire sdcard is standard behaviour on the S4 for a factory reset.
The S4 actually holds the "internal sd card" in /data/media/0, so a format of /data will do this.

I'm working on a version of the core that does this "full wipe" as standard, but adding an option to bypass the wipe of the sd card. Its still work in progress, so I'll post up when I've completed it.

However, I would recommend the standard behaviour of a full wipe of internal sd. Just back up /sdcard first, or even better, always use external sd for all of your personal files etc.

That figures. When I've done factory reset in the past everything goes..... But choosing the "clean before installing new rom" option in philz recovery seems to spare the sd card from being wiped, so have been using that option recently.
