[International / GSM] Can only get to odin/fastboot modes, both not very responsive

Hi everyone,

After a (hardware-wise) sucessful screen replacement on my Galaxy Nexus, the phone boots directly into odin mode. Pressing the volume keys + power when turning on takes me to fastboot mode, but then the volume keys do nothing. I've installed the Samsung USB drivers; the phone is recognized while in odin mode (though I'm not sure what I can do with that), but not in fastboot mode (also not appearing on the device manager).

Any ideas on how to proceed? This was a stock GSM, and I don't know if USB debugging was enabled or not.

hmm.. sounds strange.. maybe you ****ed up the volume connectors somehow and that's why it's booting into odin mode and volume keys do nothing in fastboot?

have you tried installing pdanet to get drivers? it has worked for some people and got their phone recognized in fastboot. you can uninstall pdanet after installing, the drivers will stay.

I hadn't considered that possibility. But then only one is ****ed up, since I can still boot into fastboot mode by pressing both keys...

Yes, I tried pdanet, along with others. Phone gets recognized in odin mode (or when off, with battery) as either a Samsung USB device, or an Android device. But I can't do anything with that. In fastboot mode, nothing shows up in the device manager (not even a device without drivers, for instance).

I'd try posting in the ROOT forum as its more likely someone there has some ideas or dealt with something similar.

moving to all things root sub forum
Reason: you'll get more attention to your issues in there.

Thanks for understanding. :)
