[International / GSM] Just rooted for first time... now what?

I just rooted my phone for the first time. I've been a long time iphone user and i finally went to the galaxy nexus. my friend told me about overclocking the phone but ive been reading about kernals and roms and i have no idea about that stuff. Can i just install "setcpu" and do it that way? or do i have to do something else to prep the phone?

Also, any other recommendations on what i should do now that I'm rooted would be helpful.

Thanks

you will need to flash a kernal that supports higher clock speeds. you can install SetCPU with a stock kernal, but you can't overclock. Its all in the kernal for overclocking/undervolting. Read up in the Root Stickies. there are some good step by steps in there. Many of the customer ROMs out have overclock-able kernals if you wanted to go that route.

EDIT: one more question, what carrier are you on? there are TWO versions of the Gallaxy Nexus out there (GSM and CDMA/LTE) and you need to make sure you flash the proper kernal/ROM if you are going to go that route.
