[International / GSM] Just rooted, looking for best ROM. Help please.

So I was up really late last night and I finally rooted my Galaxy Nexus. Now I'm trying to determine what is the best ROM to flash.

Which ROM do you like most? Which has the best usability, functionality, stability, etc? I won't have any issue with the clockwork touch recovery when I flash a ROM will I?

On a side note: I tried unlocking/rooting using the Wugs root toolkit. It told me that it would wipe the phone so when it rebooted after unlocking I was surprised to see that it didn't wipe my phone. I saw that superuser was installed but it failed to achieve root. I tried a couple more times with no sucess, I even screwed up my recovery. So I went back to the older ADB method and was able to flash the su.zip and recovery.img. Now I have full root and clockwork recovery (touch version) and it didn't wipe all the data off my phone. Not sure why. Oh well, I'm a noob.

I really recommend MIUI v4, it's a VERY well polished rom, and makes the phone even more enjoyable (is that even possible?). You can take a look at it over here and download/install it over here, they update it every week, and you can update straight through the updater app included.

Otherwise, I recommend AOKP, a much smoother, and more customizable version of stock. If these recommended didn't float your boat I recommend heading here to XDA, where almost all roms and kernels for the Galaxy Nexus are posted, make sure the rom is GSM compatible before you flash though. Hope this all helps :)

I'm not huge into Miui so I flashed AOKP and so far I'm loving it! I really like stock ICS look and feel. AOKP has some awesome customization options as well. Thanks for the help!

Finally got my phone yesterday but I still have to get my sim card so I'll wait till I get it but I love the phone as it is :p

I'm currently on AOKP and I can say its awesome you're gonna like it a lot. So many customizations. Hows the liquidsmooth working for you?

You rooted so quick? I'm paranoid about things like these, I just got mine and haven't rooted yet. What method did you use, if you don't mind sharing? :D

I rooted on day 1. It's too easy not to and unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone anyway so you lose less.

The toughest (but risk free) part of the process is getting the drivers on your pc. All you need to do then is unlock it with one simple fastboot command and then push a new (cwm) recovery and then flash superuser.zip onto the phone.

No exploits, no tools needed.

Idk if its my phone or the phone, but my signal bars get lost and a little "x" comes up sometimes and I have to restart my phone so I get the signal bars again. Anyone having this issue?

I had this problem. updating the kernel to Franco.Kernel-Milestone3 fixed it.
