[International / GSM] Question about rooting

If I root my phone and unlock the bootloader, will I still receive the updates from google the same way? Or will I have to download a ROM with the new features to get them?

"If you accept an update chances are you will lose root access. You can attempt to re-root the phone but if the update patched the exploit used to gain root access you will just have to wait for the developers to learn how to get around the update and fine another exploit. This might not be an issue, but has been a problem in the past with other phones and OS'.

What usually happens is that Developers will just take the update and package it up into a ROM for you to flash likeany other ROM. Thisnot only gives you the update, but it allows you to stay rooted.

I would suggest declining any updates pushed by HTC or Verizon unless it's something seriously needed. Custom ROMs with the update will soon follow."

Im sorry... did you quote something?

Yes decline any update or anything htc pushes to your phone!!!

Updates are suppose to be from google straight and not verizon for one. Two its a nexus so their not going to break your root.
