[International / GSM] Update to Calendar missing?

Nexus808

Newbie
I recently rooted and flashed AOKP Build 5 along with the latest gapps 20121011. The calendar app is still the old green app logo one and the update doesn't show up under my installed apps in the playstore. I was not able to find it searching the playstore on my phone but was able to download it through the playstore via my pc. After that both calendar apps were on the phone so I uninstalled the new one because there is no way to uninstall the old green one. Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?

I tried doing a clean install of Milestone 1 and the latest gapps but the problem still remained. Decided to flash rasbeanjelly with gapps already baked in the rom and no longer have this issue. Rasbeanjelly is not nearly as customizable as AOKP but it is very smooth and so far I have no complaints. Thanks for all your help Petrah, I really appreciate it.

Same problem for me and I'm on Paranoidandroid 2.53. However, you can safely remove the 'old' calendar app by going to /system/app/ of your root folder; of course you need a file explorer with root access and w/r enabled (ES File Manager is free if you need one). Long-press the 'green' calendar.apk and delete it - if you want to be safe then simply rename it to calendar.apk.bak; this will remove it from the app drawer also but still retain it to be renamed again back to .apk and then it will be back again.

I have deleted it on all my devices and replaced it with the Playstore version.
