Root [International] HELP PLEASE- unrooted after I updated

Sash1

Hi All,

Need some advice please...

Well I rooted my phone and backed everything up with titanium backup. All working fine up until today when I tried to install update 4.2.1. first of all the messaging app does not work so now I have to download and use a third party app which is not a problem...

My main problem is that the phone seems to unrooted itself and phone status says "Official" This is good in a way but I wanted phone to stay rooted.

I guess I can root it again but what about the back up that I created with titanium backup. When I go in there now I can not use it obviously so have lost my backups.. If I root again would it of saved my backed up data that I had on it previously?

Thanks

Yeah just root again and restore your backup. Most rooted people dont use official firmware updates because it removes root

Great- rooted back now which is great- Thank you for your help

Only problem now is the messages- even a third party app does not work and not allowing me to send or receive any messages.

Can anyone help on this please?

Thank you so much :)

Yes calls work thank God- im thinking if I should try another file to update phone again- im not sure?

Even when I tried restoring it with titanium it says failed to install app.

I have googled online too and a lot of people having the same problem

Yes- any sms messaging app that I try and use just buzzes at me and force closes. Everything else works fine like whatsapp etc

YES YES YES= fixed the issue by downloading a different update link so now running 4.2.2 and all works fine and a much better update.

I think the 4.2.1 was a corrupt file

After 4 hours :D

now just have to root AGAIN to take out the stock rubbish x
