Root [International] HTC ONE M7 - Soft Bricked - does not boot up

Hello guys, I am having an issue with my HTC ONE M7 and would like a light from you.

I tried to installed a custom rom with no ideia what I was doing and got my phone broken. I saw different topics about this issue, but could not apply to my particular problem.

Device: HTC ONE M7 - International Version
Model Number: PN07120
*** TAMPERED ***
*** RELOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT - 1.55.0000
RADIO-4T.20.3218.13
OpenDSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS-3.17.502.3
eMMC-boot 2048MB

The phone was going directly to recovery screen, but after I tried to ran some RUU with no success, when I press recovery the phone shows HTC logo and the appears above the info *** Security Warning ***. ADB and fastboot mode are working.

Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot,

Robson

ahhh just forgot my phone is UNLOCKED, but when I bought it was from AT&T.

Here's the correct RUU for your phone and revision -

http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-att/news/

Scroll down to the manual update instructions - the link is at the very bottom.

I'm concerned about the "security warning" and what "some ruu" was, but it's too late to turn back the clock.

The phone MUST be in the relocked state to proceed.

Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded the RUU from HTC's site, but I got an error "download the correct RUU and try again". The HTC screen is black with the logo HTC in silver. Any more idea?

this is the log from ruu_log

OK, so at the top, you're saying International Version but later, you said it came from AT&T - and your model id agrees.

It can't be both so let's get a better look.

Get the Mini-SDK if you don't already have fastboot on your pc -

http://androidforums.com/threads/adb-guide-updated-2014-11-11.443072/#post-5389081

Ignore the part about needing drivers for now.

Unzip the sdk-tools.zip file to get the sdk-tools folder. Windows Explorer, shift + right click the sdk-tools folder, choose Open command window here.

Power off phone. Hold volume down while powering on, follow on screen prompts so it says FASTBOOT at the top, FASTBOOT USB mode when plugged in to the pc.

In command window say -

fastboot getvar all

Alt+space to get command window menu, E for edit, select all, copy and paste into your reply here.

Be sure to remove the meid and serial numbers, those are private.

sorry for the confusion. I bought this HTC unlocked, but every time I reloaded I could see AT&T logo.
Carrier unlocked doesn't change the boot screen.

We have exactly the right RUU for your phone.

It's cavitating trying to read its own images on your pc.

Windows Explorer - top bar showing location - click so it can be edited - erase the path there - copy in the following and press return -

C:\Users\Robson\AppData\Local\Temp

Select all files and folders there and delete all.

Remove the RUU file - go download a fresh copy, I don't trust the one you had.

Get into FASTBOOT USB mode and ensure that it does not say UNLOCKED at the top.

Run the new download of the RUU.

If the problem is that someone somehow RUU'd it with a WWE package instead of the AT&T one, then it's going to take either a service center or @scotty85 to probably sort out.

That security warning and some ruu attempt you had on entry still concerns me.

Keep us informed about how you get on following post #8 above.

I'm less worried about the "some RUU" because you are S-On, so the phone shouldn't let you damage it that way. Of course we don't know what a previous owner might have done, but the phone was working before your ROM mess-up, so unless you did something other than unlock, install a custom recovery and try to flash a ROM from recovery I'm quietly hopeful that it will be fixable.

I am still downloading the RUU from HTC's site. It's taking sometime. When I unlocked the phone it was working, the problem happened when I tried to install a custom OS. Have not an ideia HTC phone was like this. I bought the phone as new, but I really don't know if someone did something before I get.

before I run the RUU, should I move the RUU to the same folder where fastboot and adb are?
It's not important. The RUU contains its own set of tools inside itself - it will unzip them into a temporary folder and work from there.

I'm on the road myself, no telling if I'll be back before Saturday or Sunday.

Hello guys, I have tested again Today, after cleaned up the temp folder and downloaded a fresh RUU from HTC's oficial site, but I still had problems, I am receiving the error (155).

Error (155) - "This error happens when you use an incorrect RUU to do the update and if the image file size is bigger that flash ROM size. In this case, download the correct RUU version and try again". The READ ME document says that...

I just can't believe that I can't install the Android OS again on the phone. It should have a default OS to boot in these cases. I am kind of disappointed with HTC because this, It's a great smartphone, but I am getting crazy with this, my phone does not have an one year yet and I lost it. I don't know if you guys have another idea what I can do in order to give life again to my phone. Is there a technical support in USA that I can take my phone to them repair?

Not sure why you're blaming HTC for a carrier version needing its own version of the firmware - all Androids are like that.

No, adb is not going to work here. Adb is the Android debug bridge - you're far past that.

Your phone is s-on - no on-phone method exists to recover a s-on phone. The RUU Windows executable is your fix here.

You locked your bootloader before trying the RUU (fastboot oem lock), and you're running the latest AT&T RUU, not an international version, yes?

Hello EarlyMon, thank you for replying.

Yes, before I run the first RUU I ran the command fastbook OEM lock, now it appears in my phone "RELOCKED". My concern is, the RUU file has the radio name 4M XXXXX but in my phone it says 4T XXXXX, could be this the wrong part or doesn't matter?

one stranger thing is, I could access the TWRP project, in fact after power on the phone was going straight to TWRP recovery screen, but now I can't go...

Guys, I have got other RUU - RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_Cingular_US_4.18.502.7_R10_Radio_4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L_release_356565_signed_2

I did not receive 155 error, the first phase was "deleting user data" and now it is checking the header, but it's here for ~15 minutes? Is it normal?
