Root [International] Note 3 N9005

Hi, Just purchased an unlocked N9005 and I went to the software update to update the software and it said it cannot be updated as the phone was modified. How do I go about updating the software? Also after rooting can the software be updated and what effect that would have on root?

Thanks for any assistance.
 
Unroot the phone, then update it. Then root it again. (Are you sure it's running the stock ROM? It could be running some other ROM that the factory update won't update.)

Not sure what rom is on it, will have to check and get back to you. How would you unroot it?
 
Xxmen, where are you in the world? There are various "stock" ROMS for different regions and countries. Their only difference is language packs but also the all important CSC codes. I can find you a download that is flashable by Odin that will allow updating as normal in the future by OTA (Over The Air) or Kies.

Will it allow me to keep the sim and region unlocked?

Can you give me some assistance in locating the latest software for my note 3. The latest software that Kies said is available is,

PDA: MJ7
Phone: MJ7
CSC: MJ4 (XEF)

Can you clarify if this updated software would be

APN: N9005XXUBMJ7
CP: N9005XXUBMJ7
CSC: N90050XXBMJ4

and is this be what I should be looking for?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Xxmen you should be alright with that one. It is a stock ROM. Now whether you can update OTA or via Kies I wouldn't know.

I update with the UK rom but it will not update over kies but it told me the phone has the lates update over OTA. Have not done much with the phone since I bought it, have not tried a sim card yet.
