Root [International] Outdated root guide or not?

Version 4.4.2 and same baseband listed in the guide. I'm inexperienced with rooting and would appreciate input so I don't wreck my phone

I got it working with the below tutorial. Apologies for ambiguous answer but I have a European carrier so assumed it wouldn't provide further clarification.

So what now that my device is rooted? Any standard measures to speed up the phone and conserve battery life?

Knowing that you have a European carrier tells us that you have the international model of the S4.

Didn't use it myself, only because I had my s4 and rooted before ironass had got his, but I did follow his guide for my s2 2 years ago and have never looked back

I used a YouTube tutorial that rooted my device with towelroot, quick and effortless :thumb:

Now I'm looking into a custom ROM to make my device faster. Anyone have any experience with LiquidSmooth?
