I have been searching the forums on and off to find out if you can root the S3 without a PC / Mac and all entries I found say categorily "no".
However, the tool "Framaroot" does work .. You have the choice of two SU apps and multiple possible exploits it can use.
I received a brand new International S3 with latest updates and it does work on it too (installing SuperUser and using 'Aragorn' as exploit).
I won't post the file or tell you where to find it - because it is not my tool and neither do I want to responsible for you to brick your device (obviously use it at your own risk). But google'll help you.
All I can say is - I am happy - no driver / odin stuff needed.
Rooted using Framaroot, installed mobile odin to patch custom recovery then using custom recovery to flash new rom - done
