Root [International] Rooting a UK S3

Are there any options to change the icons such as the battery to the stock ones in wanam? I like mine to look as stock as possible but a lot of ROMs I've tried don't seem to have an option for this

Not CODE no. Official release. So devs take an official release, (or leak) un pack it, do their stuff and repack. Just like sense roms on the desire.

Samsung have made their kernel source code available though, as they all have to by law.

The screen shot is multi screen. See how I've got tapatalk on the top half of my screen and chrome on the bottom?

When you say stock, you mean samsung? To be honest I don't think so. I theme mine to look like AOSP as its still better looking than samsung even if not feature packed. I think Omega does?

SU whats Wanam like? I really want the muliscreen but dont want to wait till december for the official release.

Any bugs?

omega's got honeycomb style battery icon - at least v31 does, not flashed an update yet. I found a few icon packs on xda here - swapped in the digit icons 'cos I can actually read the numbers ;).

Easy to do, I copied SystemUI.apk from phone to PC using Root Explorer, downloaded the CWM Script ZIP file from the same thread, opened ZIP in 7-zip, dropped SystemUI into /system/app folder, still in 7-zip double-click SystemUI and nav to res/drawable-xhdpi folder, drag/drop new icons in, close zip, yes to save updated archive.

Copy CWM zip back to ext sdcard, flashed from recovery - job done (wasn't sure if I could mod SystemUI in 7-zip without adding it to ZIP file, or whether I could just copy it back to phone via Root Explorer).

You can edit in 7 zip and winrar directly. You can drop it in place using root explorer. You will then get loads if force closes. Pull the battery and all is good.

Even easier would be to download a vrt zip. Villain rom theme engine, and drop the icons in there. When. You flash this, it unpacks whatever apk you tell it and replaces the image. Its quite neat, but not only that, as it only replaces the images, it can be flashed on any systemui. In otherwords, when you update the rom, the same zip you already have will work
