Well I have an SGS3 arriving Tuesday. I've killed my SGS2 after dropping it in some very dirty water.

After rooting, downloading it's stock ROM/Kernel, guess what's next ? the latest Siyah Kernel and NeatROM, with Aroma mods. Added bonus is Jkay is working on an S3

Salesale if your ROM for the S3 is as good as your S2 one, which I'm sure it will be. I may not upgrade this year in April and wait for 2014's crop of phones at the earliest.
 
hey i just installed the rom and need some help restoring the lock screen to the default lock screen of the s3. I have the nexus 4 style lock screen which i dont really like. Any help would be appreciated.

scratch that i did a fresh install following the instructions mentioned in the OP post for a full wipe and im stuck on the boot screen waited a good 20 mins it didnt boot. Any idea what could be wrong? I tried restoring my nandroid backup but all the backups i have are corrupted. When trying to restore get errors that system.img is missing and it gives me various img files missing errors and i cant restore anything. I then tried re installing the rom and same thing stuck on boot screen and does not go further.
 
Check md5sum or download again rom. looks like bad download. also after full wipe, format system under mounts and storage
 
i did format system under mounts and storage after which every single nandroid backup on my phone is corrupted. They were all working earlier. I made 2 backups on 13th and both are now showing as corrupted.
 
Have you renamed your nandroid backups or moved/copied the backup between internal/external sd card?
 
cwm recovery only. is there any app or something i could use to recover the data? I have clockworkmod backups dating back to sept of last year and all of them have got corrupted now.

Honestly I don't think so. Whenever that's happened to me I've had to write them off and make new ones. I think your best bet will be to redownload the Rom and put it on your external sd and flash again.
 
well that sux the only reason i changed my rom was the fact that i was sure that i could restore my omega if i every needed to. I dont think its a download issue. I had installed the same zip file and it had worked the 1st time only issue i had was it gave me a wierd lock screen and not the default lock screen. After which i had followed the steps to do a full wipe and install after which my phone didnt boot and all the backups died. I have since then installed omega again and luckily have a titanium backup which works so managed to restore all my apps + data. I am honestly a little skeptical of trying this rom again. Has anyone else faced an issue like this??

So the issue with my backup being corrupted is due to CWM? So if i were to flash another recovery i would not have this issue again?
 
i just downloaded that going to flash it now. I dunno what happened but my internal memory just got wiped(no data on the 16gb at all).
 
ok can someone help me i followed the steps mentioned below and my phone does not boot stuck on siyah kernel logo. Left it for about 20 mins now. Am i doing something wrong? The installation says completed but my phone just refuses to boot. I used the full wipe as i was coming from omega rom to neatrom.

Installation with Full wipe:

-Download, and save zip to internal sdcard
-Go to recovery, Select Wipe data, Wipe cache
-Go to Advance and Select Wipe dalvik cache
-Go to Mounts and storage, select Format system
-Select Install Rom from SD card
Note, first boot takes about 5-10 mins, so don't panic
Reboot device
 
thanks salesale turns out i was flashing the wrong file. Was trying to flash v1.4a which i now figured out is not a rom and only a update. Omega rom was different he had everything incorporated into one aroma install. So i had just assumed the neatrom would be the same. I downloaded the update file from here and flashed it and then flashed the 1.4a and setup the customization's.

still have one query is there anyway to restore the original lock screen of the phone? I seem to have one that looks like the nexus lock screen. I had not selected nexus lock screen during install.
 
yes the one where u need to click in the circle and drag ure finger either right to unlock or left for camera. Also have u made any changes regarding how live wallpapers work? I am trying to use multipicture live wallpaper but it does not work it only shows me 1 picture and not the rest.
 
Hi Salesale, pretty impressed with this ROM so far! Curiosity has gotten the better of me and im wondering what Nexus 4 camera and gallery options are in Aroma? Whats different especially between the 2 gallerys?

If i wanted to flash them would i just start up Aroma and flash (obviously skipping all other options)?
 
u would just need to download and flash any aroma enabled download for example 1.4a and select what all u want and it will flash it for u. But first make sure to make a Nandroid Backup first to be safe. The nexus 4 camera is quite cool it looks great and works well and u get the option to use both cameras on the phone.

Salesale, XXELLC NeatROM Full*(4.1.2) will Aroma mods (XXELLA Aroma Mods v1.4a) work on it?

BTW thank you, within half an hour of un boxing my shiny new SGS3 was rooted and had your latest full ROM on it. Once again it is a triumph :)
 
A few of the things in the aroma mod have been updated since such as jkay, jb domination and some of the kernels so it might be worthwhile downloading and flashing them separately
