Root [International] Unable to root 4.3

I've been using my rooted S3 for the past year without much problem. The other night though I tried installing a new ROM, and got stuck in a boot loop so flashed a 4.3 stock ROM. I used XXUGNA5 and flashed it no bother. Now though, whenever I try and root it, it says PASS in Odin, but root checker states that it's not rooted. It's driving me crackers. My phone really doesn't seem to like 4.3 and I'd like to go back to something more stable. Any ideas?
 
Just something to look at:

Settings > Developer options > Root Access and check that it is set for Apps or Apps & ADB..for some reason a couple of ROMS I have flashed have this set to disabled on first boot so it appears your phone is not rooted.

I was using Odin (both 3.07 & 3.09) and at first used CF Auto Root m0 m0xx, when that didn't work I tried CF Root SGS3 v6.4 but to no avail. Odin does say PASS when complete, but Root Checker says it's not.

Ok, I'll check that. Currently flashing XXUGML2 stock firmware, as I'm struggling to access my memory card on NA5.

Give me a minute mate. Just tried flashing CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4 on XXUGML2. Root Checker still says it's not rooted and there's no root menu or anything showing up in Developer Options. Shall I try and enter recovery?

Saying as I could get into CWM Recovery, I flashed NEATRom v6.5 Aroma.

Been on an old NEATrom so long I thought 4.3 was too unstable. Until I noticed you guys raving about 4.4 :o:D

WIll I still need to install SU?? to my latest ROM? Tempted to try Kitkat however.

One thing I have noticed on 4.3 though, is my phone is pretty glitchy, even on the new Neatrom, and it struggles to access the memory card. Any ideas?
 
I think if you just flash a rom you will be rooted. Why not try Neat Rom AOSP (kitkat)? Unless you really need touchwiz.
Aosp kitkit is excellent and mega fast :)
