Root [International] Which ROM are you using?

Ghost10bxl

Android Enthusiast
So I'm new to rooting and rooted my phone yesterday, I flashed Omega just because I didn't want to lose features like Swipe palm to capture and others. But I don't get much customisation so might move on. I want to ask what ROM are you using?

What do you mean by customisation?

I use Wanam lite. All Touchwiz roms are very similar. I choose this one because:

1) Its lite
2) Updated quickly
3) Most other touchwiz roms thank wanam for his developments anyway

I've been using Omega for months now and love it.
Can say if it's better or not then Wanam lite, I hear that Wanam Lite is a very good rom and need to try it one day.

I know that Omega is always getting better and better.

I'm trying out the aptly named UltimaROM Leviathan. It's a ludicrously sized 1.3 GB and has an insane amount of options to choose from.

Its actually really good, I like the JB Domination theme and it has options for the AOSP browser (which is by far the best browser on Android) and the AOSP messaging app, a modded dialer, choice of 4 kernels, OTA updating etc.

These can all be found and flashed separately to any ROM but its nice to have it all there in the installer (which is the longest installer I've ever seen!)

I'm assuming you mean "Can't say"?

If so, right. It is a subjective thing. Wanam is better for me. I found Omega bloated and full of things wanam created anyway, so I just thought "Why not go to the source?"

I also thought Omega updated to every new base when it wasn't needed. Even if there was no changes. That's kind of irrelevant now because every new base seems to have something new in it now.

I also didn't like how the Omega developer ignored my posts in his thread with a request. These were all reasons why I left and to be honest, I never looked back.

That said, it really is subjective. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

im using NeatRom is quite good and fast. Also ran Omega for quite a while and was very happy with it. Been meaning to try Wanam lite myself but never got down to doing it. Tried installing Codec ROm but miss touchwiz too much to use it.

All the touchwiz roms are similar really. They're all much-over-muchness. Really, you're just choosing a base for all your own mods and customization. It's like picking out an undercoat before you paint your walls.

Its the Samsung proprietary framework underpinning all the great Samsung features that make the S3 so much better than any Nexus device.

doh! you got me :-D nice one
how is life on wanam? have you tried others?
try the dark side Luke ;-)

I don't need to try anything else really. All tw are pretty much the same. I don't want aosp

ah I see. I can't help myself unfortunately :-D
even tried my first aokp 4.2 rom. it was good but not as good as latest codec

as far as the issues SU was mentioning regarding indie(omega rom) not responding to his queries, thats why i like NeatRom the developer is a great guy(salesale) and will help with any modifications or anything you need(he made a custom flash-able file for me to get some features that were missing).

I have a pet hate of payed app devs who dont respond to emails so id never trust the rom of a dev' who was unresponsive even though it is free mate.
Salesale is a good guy :)

I was on Omega for the first months of s3 ownership. the thread is always at the top, so all new users inevitably go there first and whilst there is nothing wrong with Omega, it is just a standard sammy ROM and there are many others. I've noticed that salesale (neatrom) does respond to most if not all queries/requests and provide personalised flashable zips...

yeah i tried wanamlite the first time i flashed - solid rom but too stock for me- ive been through a few since - have settled with the Codec rom for now - the dev has been working hard on his main sammy/aosp Codec rom but also has a aokp Kodec rom too :)

I've tried neatrom and omega, but found what I was looking for when I installed foxhound. Don't see a lot of mentions of this ROM in this forum is there something I should be aware of?

Siyah + Wanam + Jkay framework + Motomoto theme :D (sometimes think too much to play about with though)
