Root [International] Wont detect Storage in Recovery Mode

Hi,

I'm an absolute noob when it comes to rooting and what not, basically I picked this HTC One from a friends place who had it lying around for a while now and had no idea what was wrong with it.

Basically, the phone turns on but wont go past the Start Up screen, the Boot Loader works, I was even able to flash CWM recovery on to it, which means that the computer is able to access the storage of the HTC one, how ever, after that was completed, I opened recovery and it wont show anything in my storage except for a TWRP folder (the device was running a TWRP recovery before I flashed CWM on to it, for learning purposes I guess).

When it had TWRP, it kept telling me that the Device has no OS to load, so I'm trying to flash a rom but it wont show anything in the storage of the device and neither will the computer fully detect the device storage, it kinda fails half way through.

does this mean that the device is completely unrepairable/scrap?, or is there a way to overcome this issue and get the phone back running again.

Any help would be highly appreciated and thanks a lot in advance!
 
you can try another card. then if that fails try another recovery like clockworkmod also allow me to welcome you to android forums

what do you mean by another card?, I'm already running ClockWorkMod on the device, it use to have TWRP on it but then I changed it.

I have another question,

if the recovery is telling me that I have no files in my storage, and no OS installed, how can I upload files if I cant even get the computer to detect the phone when I connect it via USB?, it does try to connect but then it fails half way through, I mean the HTC One sync software pops open and tells me that it was unable to connect, what can I do to load the Roms on to the device?

All I have is the weekend to make this happen before the phone is opened up and sold for parts.

I can walk you through repairing the phone.
first you need to install fastboot/adb
you can find it here - https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1S0LCuXCnnmSWh6NGJmSE1BUWc/edit?usp=sharing

I install it to c:\fastboot for simplicity
the next step is for you to run a command from the command prompt from the fastboot folder(right click command prompt here)
fastboot getvar all
post the results here (minus the iemi and serial no.)
this way we can guide you to the proper files to return your phone to stock.

while in fastboot type
fastboot erase cache
then reboot to recovery (power+ volume down)
then in recovery do factory reset
the install this
Guru Reset M7 2.24.401.8 - HTC1Guru

choose not to install recovery and radio in the Aroma options

Sorry had to step out.
to get the rom to your phone
you copy the rom to your fastboot folder and rename it rom.zip
then you simply use ADB
boot phone to recovery
go to pc command prompt from fastboot folder and type
adb push rom.zip /data/media/0/
and wait about 6 min for the file to copy to the phone
now on the phone in recovery choose install and the rom.zip will be in your sdcard

no man its okay, cant complain, appriciate the help

I was able to transfer a dummy .bin file but when I try to transfer the rom it gives me the cannot read rom error

edit:

sorry, I tried to push the rom into the device the way you told me but it could not read the directory so I'm trying to sideload the file and thats when pretty much every other file is transferring right now except the rom.zip file, lol.
 
you can prolly also use the sideload feature of twrp. more info

if you enter:

adb devices


in recovery,do you get

xxx recovery

(xxx being your phones serial number)

if you do not,that may be why youre having trouble pushing the rom to the phone.

If your using windows and you have hide file extensions enabled, you could have inadvertently renamed the file rom.zip.zip this would be bad the file name must be exact.
to change the setting in windows hit start and in the run/search box type folder options, it should show up first in the search click it. In the window that opens, at the top click View. then in the window labeled Advanced settings, uncheck the box that says hide extensions for known file types. you can also check show hidden files here if you want. click apply and now check your fastboot folder and be sure the file names are all correct
