I'm using the Stock Browser...would love a couple of tips.

When browsing, for example, this message board, I'll scroll down and then click a message thread. After reading and clicking the back button, it will go back to TOP of the page, not where I had previously scrolled down to. Can't find anything in settings that would remedy this...any ideas or is there something I am missing?

Last question, does anyone have a better browser I might try? This stock one seems clunky to get to my bookmarks, etc. I know this sounds like heresy, but my work Iphone browser is great with the buttons underneath to be able to one-click share a site, go to bookmarks, etc.

I like the stock browser because there's no browser tools taking up real estate on the screen like Opera, Dolphin etc. I want the whole screen showing the webpage and no url box or bookmark tabs on screen like others.

They've hosed the stock browser back behavior. Not only does it take you to the top of the page, it's a cached copy of your last visit, not the current state of the page.

Try maybe Firefox, Skyfire, Opera or others, see if one is right for you.

firefox is wonderful, no tools to muck up the UI.

skyfire is also a great alternative. they both live on the 3D and xoom gadgets i use.

I use Opera Mini for some browsing when in a less than stellar EVDO coverage area, the compression Opera does really seems to improve browser speed. Moving around the site with the browser is OK in Mini, nothing spectacular.
