Help internet connection problem

Hi everyone!

I have a HTC Desire S, running Android 2.3.5. Till a couple days ago everything was ok, but then it started to shut the internet (the data connection with my service provider, not the Wi-Fi) off every time I lock the screen and unlock it again. It's getting really annoying, 'cause I have to go every time to settings, shut the data connection off and then turn it on again, so that there is an internet connection again.
Can someone give me a hint as to what to do, in order to avoid such a thing?

I started to have the same problem, but I've noticed that it happened only when I went out of work and disconnected from the wi-fi router.
It never happened when I went home and disconnected from the home network.
I just disabled the work wi-fi and no problem since.
I know this is not a solution, but I have no data limit, and no special Internet speed requirements.
