Hey guys, I'm planning on getting a Galaxy S2 international, and was wondering if there is internet connection with t-mobile. According to my brother, the international version does not have internet connection with T-Mobile. Please help. Thanks so much! :)

Hello and welcome to Android Forums, SDlinK43! :)

Just a couple of questions:-

Which country are you based?

Is it an unbranded Samsung Galaxy S2, i9100?

I'm in America, and yes, I'm buying it unbranded. It is an unlocked phone. :)

If you are indeed getting the Samsung Galaxy S2 International i9100 for use in the U.S. with T-Mobile, you may indeed encounter problems using the 3G network.

The model number/name for the Samsung Galaxy S2 that is compatible with the T-Mobile network in the U.S. is the T989, known as the Hercules.

As you will see from the attached link that compares the 2 models, the International, i9100, version, does not offer the same 3G/HSDPA bands as the T989. See here:-

Samsung Galaxy S II T989 vs. Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II - GSMArena.com

There is a thread regarding this on the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 forum that may prove useful to you. See here:-

Hope this helps.

Nope, tmobile uses different UMTS frequencies (HSPA+) than at&t. They want to be original so they went with a weird spectrum, so people wouldnt be able to migrate devices onto their UMTS network. You have to get the Tmobile specific T989 in order to get 4G (HSPA+) on it, the international or AT&T version wont work as they dont support the 1700mhz frequency to be specific.
