Help Internet not working on unlocked phone.

I recently unlocked my Samsung Captivate in order to use it with the O2 network in the UK while I study abroad. I got a pay and go plan that includes internet usage but while I can send and receive texts and phone calls, the internet doesn't work. I found and input the correct APN settings for the O2 network and then restarted my phone but that hasn't worked. Is 3G just not going to work on my phone if it's not through AT&T? Or is there something else I can try?

i would go through the browser/wap settings very carefully just to be sure you have everything exactly correct for your foreign carrier...

also make sure that the new wap profile you created has the selection button done, so it is the active one.

turning your phone off and back on after you make changes helps

call the carrier over there and copy down every single browser setting they have. if they only have directions on how to set the settings in specific phones ask them to look through a couple smart phones settings to make sure one doesn't have additional info

you may be able to play around with the settings a bit to get it to work, it would be trial and error and maybe some guessing

if it doesn't work then it wont work, sometimes some phones dont work on other networks for internet...this goes for people with unlocked phones trying to use att too.

you should still be able to use wifi at least.
