Internet opens by itself overnight

Something seems to have changed on my phone that overnight the internet browser opens all by itself. It doesn't sound like a big deal but I have Tasker set to leave the display on indefinitely while using certain apps and Internet is one of them. So in the middle of the night I think a light has been turned on in the room, but it's just my phone. And it will do it a couple times in the night. When it wakes me up I just hit the screen lock button and it turns off the screen. But later on it will light up again.

Any ideas on why an app would open by itself in the middle of the night?

Hello anikun. You probably just need to carefully go through your settings, especially the clock/alarm and Tasker. It's also possible that you've got another app/widget configured to bring the browser alive at certain times.

It really does sound like a menu/configuration issue.

Thanks. I never had this problem on Froyo. It's not until the T-Bolt ICS update that this started happening. Also, I get screenshots at random that I don't think I'm accidentally taking. I think I'm going to save my pictures and such and do a factory reset. That should fix it.

it is some app, which is doing those things have you tried appkiller to see what tasks are running on your phone. Have you downloaded any unwanted app which can maliciously harm your phone.

I believe it was from my Tasker plug-in, Secure Settings, that was somehow unlocking and making Internet open. I factory reset the phone and it didn't happen when I didn't have that plug-in installed. It also did not happen last night after I installed it and set those tasks back up. Hopefully it won't happen again.

I actually did factory reset after the ICS update and prior to installing the plug-in. The reset helped, but not as much as I wanted it to. Different issues, though. But the most recent OTA update seems to have made a bigger difference for me.
