As stated in the title, since rooting my internet speed has been dramatically slower and my service sometimes drops from 3G to 1x. When it switches to 1x I cannot use the internet. It stays like that for about 2 minutes and then switches back to 3G. I just rooted my friends Evo4G and flashed MikG 3.11 and his phone is doing the same thing. He's on Sprint, I'm on Verizon. My phone is running Gingeritis 3D 1.0 but I'm going to update momentarily to 1.2. Typical load times in my browser are about 15 seconds. The status bar hangs for 2 seconds then goes up to about 3/4 and sits there for the rest of the 10-15 seconds on a white screen until the page appears. I have done all the tricks with the browser settings (clearing cache, history, cookies, etc) and no luck. I reset settings to default and no luck. Downloaded firefox and dolphin, no dice.
I did come across the thread for updating PRL. Not sure I want to get into that if I don't need to.
Does anyone have a definite answer to what is going on here? I've spend a lot of time reading threads and haven't gotten very far. If you need more info about my phone settings let me know. Thanks guys!
