Yes just use the power control widget that comes with android,it does exactly the same as the htc widgets and more.
rtb is running GingerVillain, which comes with a power control widget which does have this feature. Has probably forgotten what does or does not come with stock firmware (I know I have!).actually this is incorrect. The only 'internet' controls on the default android power widget is Wifi and AutoSyncing, there is no mobile connection control, which is what I believe the OP is after..
