Hello to the Gang,

I am ignorant about phones in general but I am familiar with the Linux OS on computer H/W platforms. In particular, i have experience with Fedora dating back to Core 3.

Enough abut me. I was attracted to this site while trying to sim unlock a old ZTE 990G Merit StraightTalk that I got from my daughter who had a friend that was trashing all of her old phones. I see a lot of interesting things on this site and decided to join and learn something new by enter the world of smartphones from a developers perspective.

Please bear with me as I will be asking a lot of what may seem to be dumb questions :) Especially since I know absolutely nothing about social media.
