________________________________________
Hey guys I'm doing research about the Galaxy Note 2 and iPhone 5 and have compiled a list of each devices advantages. Please I don't want no fan-boyish or trolling comments. Just want to do some peaceful research for a project im doing about the pros of both devices. If I have made some errors or forgotten something plz let me know. - uh, of course it has better Apple integration, Apple made it. Besides, I don't want Apple integration, I don't use Apple products. And not everyone wants to use them. As far as I am concerned, iTunes is a big bloated piece of crap. So its not a real advantage.

- Less ad-ware is equal to more payware. Just pay for the apps and the ads will go away.

- Meh, its not like the exclusive apps are stuff we'd die to have. All the essentials are covered in Android, and some of the exclusive apps have their counterparts. Unless the app does something that cannot be done on Android, then that's when it becomes an advantage.

- Cloud Backup - I don't think you realize that Apple copied this from Android services, which means Android has had this before Apple did.

- Direct updates? What do you mean? From Apple? Nexus phones get direct updates.

- Native auto mobile integration? What does this even mean? Integration with cars?

- Apps launching faster is entirely dependent on what device you are using. If you are using a mid range phone, of course it will be slower than an iPhone. If you use a Galaxy SIII, it will be as fast if not faster. Of course this also depends on how well the app was written.

can you think of anything advantages to ios6

None. Android can do anything iOS can, and has long since surpassed iOS in terms of functionality. However if you consider ease of use an advantage, maybe that. Android was forced to remove certain features like universal search, or number/address recognition in certain parts of the UI because of lawsuits from Apple.

Well probably also gaming, since iOS is a unified platform and games work well on all recent units, while Android has a lot of differing hardware so incompatibilities and lagging happens.

Also iOS as you said is advantageous for people who use Apple products like Macs, but thats a whole different story since you'll delve into the whole Mac vs Pc argument there.

considering were discussing jellybean devices, those are going to be top of the line devices. You don't have to worry about incompatibilities with games because of a lack of hardware.

I personally have never owned an Apple device, and there are probably several people here who have not, as well. My advice is for you to post this same info into an Apple based forum so that you can hear what those who use Apple would have to say. Then you can compare the responses from both sites objectively, and come to your own conclusions.

iPhone 5

Much easier one handed use
Definitely true, I have to give Apple this one. You can reconfigure the app launcher to have the icons all on one side, however, to keep it easy to use with one hand.

Much lighter
Again, definitely true - it is much thinner, as well, but the weight advantage is mostly due to the smaller size.

Higher PPI
Again, true, but the Galaxy SIII also has a much larger screen with AMOLED tech.

Natural Whites
True. I've always been peeved at Samsung for not working on proper screen calibration (look at www.displaymate.com).

Better Contrast ratio (GSMarena)
?????? I may be wrong, but I SERIOUSLY doubt this. Again, see www.displaymate.com.

Brighter (GSMarena)
True, yes the iPhone 5 does have a very bright screen. AMOLED displays don't really have the ability to crank out high brightness yet.

Faster download
Erm...I'm not sure where you're getting this. Are you talking Wi-Fi or 4G LTE? I'm pretty sure their performance is quite close in this regard, but I may be wrong.

Better Low light camera
From what I've heard, the iPhone 5's camera is QUITE good in low light. You're forgetting the purple-shift it gets, though, when a bright object is near the edge of the photo.

Premium feel (aluminium, Glass)
It does use quality materials, yes; although the GSIII does apparently have a fairly natural feel to it in the hand. It's plastic, but GOOD plastic!

louder speakers (GSMarena)
Yes, I'm fairly sure the speakers are better on the iPhone 5.

Thinner
I was shocked at how razor-thin they made the iPhone 5, so resolute yes.

More accessories
...yes...but any accessories that you could ever need you can get for the Galaxy SIII. Speaker docks, Bluetooth speakers, car mounts, cases, screen protectors, and you don't need a proprietary charger. Also, the iPhone 5 changed the dock connector. ANY non-standard accessories that you had with previous iPhone's won't work anymore, whereas with the SIII and Android, the accessories generally are all standards-compliant.

OS

Voice assistant has more personality ( Jokes ect)
Yep, a neat feature but not a selling point for me.

Better Apple integration (apple tv, Macs, Itunes ect)
Yep, but Google has Google TV, with Music, Movies, TV Shows, and more. Direct integration with Google Play. iTunes is generally considered bloated software, most dislike it (not an advantage). Macs...yes, they do, pictures sync better and a few other things I think.

less ad-ware on AppStore
This, I'm not so sure about. This is irrelevant, IMO, as the Play Store has really high-quality apps and the AppStore has its fair share of adware. You just get a paid version (on both stores) if its an app you don't want ads on.

Better exclusive apps
...maybe...but Google Play has gotten many old AppStore exclusives lately. Real Racing 2, for example. The only game that comes to the top of my mind is Infinity Blade, and I don't care for those kinds of games. Android has a massive game selection lately.

Cloud Backup (better than googles back up)
Android had it first, and it integrates awesomely. All pictures automatically sync to the cloud through Google+, and you get access to ALL photos that you upload anywhere to Picasa Web Albums.

Better landscape typing
??? I have never heard of this. It seems like an opinion to me, the Galaxy SIII's screen is larger and allows larger letters, and also larger viewable screen area while typing. +1 for GSIII, IMO.

Direct Updates
The iPhone 5 gets updates instantly from Apple, yes. However, if you want this from Android, get a Nexus device (more on that later). I'd get a Nexus over the Galaxy SIII anyday, even the old Galaxy Nexus.

Native Auto mobile Integration
??? If you could be a bit more specific...? Android has great turn-by-turn and voice dictation, even better than Siri for typing.

Apps launch slightly faster
That depends on your phone and the app. I would actually go for the Galaxy SIII on this one, do more research and look at some videos. Make sure the circumstances of the test are objective.

ANYWAY, I would hold off on your research until you look into the Nexus 4, by LG. The specs crush even the Galaxy SIII, AND its a Nexus. The display looks to be incredible (LG makes good screens, and this is using mature IPS LCD tech), the camera looks great, the SoC is great, the amout of RAM is great; the specs are amazing for a Nexus. Look into it, it'll run with Android 4.2 which will be out soon and everything will change at that time.

Give it time, then make a decision.

Native Auto mobile Integration

Native auto mobile integration with proprietary 30-pin dock connector iOS devices. Unfortunately the iPhone 5 doesn't have that.

There's the Lightning adaptor of course, but it's already known that sometimes this doesn't play too well with certain 30-pin dock connector devices, e.g. BMW factory fitted ICE. What does one do here, buy a new "Works with iPhone 5" BMW?

Where I am most new auto ICE systems I've seen have standard USB ports rather than proprietary Apple only 30-pin dock connectors. Just plug a USB stick, USB hard drive, or any USB device that mounts as a drive like an Android phone, and it will work.

iPhone 5

Better Low light camera
From what I've heard, the iPhone 5's camera is QUITE good in low light. You're forgetting the purple-shift it gets, though, when a bright object is near the edge of the photo.

Actually that's a non-issue, just about all cameras can do that. It's called lens flare. Only way to avoid it is to avoid shooting into bright light or use a lens hood.

The cardi is supposed to be black...

Let me just say that I'm sort of an apple kind of guy, but IOS 6 was a complete major fail.
I was more excited for IOS 5 release than IOS 6, I think that shows something.
As for the iPhone 5............. not really impressed with it, they could have done so much more.
#NeedSteveJobsBack

I jumped shipped from iOS to Android last month. I got an SG3. There is only one thing I preferred on iOS and that's Facetime. It's crystal clear audio and video. I have tried Skype, gTalk and ooVoo on my SG3 and nothing comes close to Facetime.

At the end of the day it comes down to a personal preference.. meaning if you like owning a device with limitations then ios is maybe for you.. but if really want to feel like own the device then android is a better way to go.... i crossed over and have never looked back its a much better....

The iPhone 5 has an IPS screen which cannot have a higher contrast ratio than the AMOLED screen on the Note. AMOLED screens when black are totally black with no light. It has a contrast ratio of infinity. IPS screens will not be totally black because it cannot totally block out the back lighting.
