Welcome to AF! :)

Which device do you own? Could it be that the router is denying the handset/tab a connection? Also, ahve you tried setting yourself a static IP?

Hi EL PRESIDENTE,
it is a acer iconia a500 tablet it also asks for a password after the welcome screen to get access to the internet but i live in Spain and the engineerthat set it up said he didnt need to use a password so im stuck,
how do u go about setting up a static ip.

If you head to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wireless Settings -> Menu -> Advanced, there should be a setting for assigning a static IP.

I'm not sure where exactly as the A500 runs Honeycomb and I've only used that briefly in shops, that's certainly how you assign yourself an IP address on most of the handsets I've used.

Not sure about the password thing, is that a soon as you access the internet?

i have managed to get connected to my router but as soon as i try to go on the net it states i have no data connection,
if i press on the padlock it asks for a password but i was not given a password when the engineer set up the router,
i have 4 bars showing strength
