which I interpreted as he wants to buy now and resell to buy later with the Ipads. Apple's known for being quick on changing its line up, like u said a year in between. The macbook pro actually sometimes gets 2 updates in a year. My comment just to say that selling and rebuying anything computer-wise that fast isnt the best idea.
It is if you just want something to play with and it's made by Apple.

^Some local craigslist ads for very old Macbooks, one of which has a failed HD. Whatever you may think about Apple, I don't see how anyone can deny they hold their prices well.

Please read carefully though, I'm not saying they dont hold value well, i'm just saying consistently buying and selling like that not the best idea imo, because of two reasons: you lose money each time you make a transaction, and they come out every year sometimes twice a year. The apple cycle for each apple product doesn't always stay the same too. For example, the 2011 macbook pro actually came out a couple months late from when its due. The Iphone's June launch got delayed to September. Sometimes the cycles are shortened, but it really comes down to Apple and their secret labs lol.
