Google never made an OS before. Android devs came from Danger and Be inc, 2 companies that produced OS's but never really made it. It's remarkable that Android is flourishing and dominating when so many other alternative OS's have tried and failed.

Doesnt really change what I said though, the media/industry are still very biased so awards like this are meaningless. :)

My last phone was a i8910, it was the first with HD recording, had a 8MP camera and flash, when the competing iPhone had VGA recording, 3.2MP camera and no flash.

They've never had the best specs all round and oftern lacked basic features you would expect on a phone.

OK the quality of the camera is a different kind of spec. Apple is a computer company so you'd expect them to have the advantage in computer specs and they did for a while. I didn't expect them to lose it so quickly.
They'll still have an appstore/itunes advantage for a long time because Google can't take advantage of competition in that area the way they can with their hardware partners.
 
Hahaha! Kind of funny, don't you think? :D No, it's not funny -it's hillarious! ^^ As long as batterylife and other stupid things, like screen, are way behind iPhone 4, the Android-devices will be humiliated like this even this year. Boy I never thought I would say this...

Drinking a bit of Steve's kool-aid?
I have never seen any iPhone beat my Droid X in battery life.
Just won't happen.

Now.. what good is a high resolution screen if it's SO SMALL YOU CAN'T READ IT?

Think about that for a minute.
Get back to me when Apple finally beats the hardware specs on any high-end Android device and actually puts an OS on it that's worth something.

I am old enough to have used an Apple Plus to code in basic. I am old enough to remember when an 80 mb 'Sider' was considered way more disc space than anyone would ever require. I am old enough to have used Visicalc, the predecessor to Excel, to run a business on. I am also old enough to have seen the PC revolution, MS Dos's takeover, then the morph into Windows - and there are people here older then I am who saw back even further. I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

There are many 'old people' using Android phones.

And there are many 'old people' who don't take bites out of Apple of any type. I learned early on and will always despise all things Apple. Our first 8086 convinced me of that.

I just remembered when DOS, Windows came on about 10 floppy disks...I dont think the computer, laptop we had had an optical drive...

And was amazed at being able to type in some commands and make a circle appear on screen. I was a kid at the time, but damn...I feel old now.

Here is a laugh...
Check out what the servant pulled out of his old box of disks from the VERY EARLY 1990s

I had version 2.1 disks but I don't know where those are.:(

I use Android devices :D

This is 5x1.2mb floppies.
Windows 95 came on around 10 3.5 inch disks or a cdrom IIRC.
I have the cdrom version. :eek:

Different kind of specs? i8910 has simalar specs the iphone at the time when it came to the CPU and memory and a decent GPU, but with 3.7" AMOLED screen, expandable memory, radio, video calling, flash support you know useful stuff like that.

I'd easily drop the stupid number of useless apps for a better phone, itunes is not an advantage btw.

Actually, it is the above statement that is hilarious! My battery life is perfect. And speaking of screen, there are so many reports of iphails with cracked screens that an entire repair industry is being supported...Then there are the Class Action suits...And have we discussed the ideath grip? Add to this the reports that version 5 may receive some of its parts from that bastion of expensive well-made technology --- Taiwan? Apple moving iPhone 5 parts from Japan to Taiwan | Electronista :rolleyes:

It's like taking the popular pretty girl home after the party to find that her long luxurious hair is a kanekelon weave, her long manicured nails are acrylic and her designer handbags are knock-offs. You walk away with the feeling that you paid too much for a so-so experience.

And let's face it, if after witnessing the truckload of cutting edge Androids at MWC, that the iphail 4 was actually selected the winner, they need to see an entire team of psychiatrists!

I remember the video.
The person in the video makes a VERY valid point about the iPhone launch.
It was anti-consumer... and I think he is right.
 
Apple has always been anti-consumer, with all the feel-good trappings masking the truth. Reminds me of something else going on nowadays, so I'd better keep my fingers quiet ;)
 
I love the way I can continue to set up my DHD exactly the way I want to use it,adding widgets,shortcuts etc and while some say about fiddling about with it a lot,well that's only because you can with Android,its just as easy to leave it simple if you want to,I find the sd card very handy to remove and carry a spare battery for emergency if I know its goin to get a hammering,and wouldn't go back the my old iphone 4 screen as it seems so small,and fiddling around a liitle gets me 2 days of battery

iphone 4,been there,done that,would never go back

Apple needs a pre-buyback program.
They will buy back your new device before they release it and before you buy it!:D
