iPhone 4 or Xperia Play?

Im torn everyone. I broke my iPhone 4 screen a while back, and I was gonna be forced to pay $200 for a new one. But instead I just bought a new screen online and fixed it myself much cheaper. Unfortunately, it didnt go as well as planned. I ended up breaking the phones wifi, the home button barely works, and the new screen is already cracking internally on the sides from a few accidental drops. My iPhone is a mess :(

The real unfortunate thing though is that Im not eligible for an upgrade til May, so if I want a new phone, Im forced to pay the no-commitment fee. Ive had my eye on the Xperia Play for months when it was on Verizon, and now its on at&t and Im torn. I easily have the funds for the Xperia Play for the no commitment $399.99, its just a matter of it is worth it or not. Thoughts?
 
Also, because I have an iPhone 4, if I do get the XP, what will happen with the sim card? the iPhone 4 has a micro sim card...
 
I don't know about the sim card :(

But, yes get the Xperia Play, same specs as the iPhone 4 but better :) Android by far is more superior to iOS, I have an iPod touch so I have both. You still get the 1GHz prcessor and 512MB of RAM, and the front facing camera. But now you would get a gamepad :D
 
I brought a used Xperia Play off ebay for $290. Just make sure the ESN is clean.

I recommend the Xperia Play over the Iphone. Iphone have better games, but the Xperia Play has better controls :-)
 
the xperia play over the iphone everytime :)
i played with both and compared...
so far the xperia play has the better overall... apps on the appmarket wich are .99$... free on android market (most of them) :)
and you get the latest android 2.3.3 also... wich is (to me) a big improvement over iOS 4.3

also UI is about 99% customizable wich iOS is less than .001% customizable without a jailbreak/hack

Wow thats cheap! I cant find one for less than $350. Makes me want to just bite the bullet and get it off of AT&T's website, at least knowing Ill get the phone brand new, plus theyre offering free shipping overnight right now :D

also i heard there were some micro sim adapter
 
So I went to my local AT&T store a few days ago, and they said they didnt even receive any except one for a store demo. He said he would call me once he locates one for me but he has yet to call. Is it normal for cellphone stores to not carry stock of phones they sell? I went in on Tuesday, and Im getting really anxious waiting for this phone. Should I drop by again and see if they got any?
 
That is defiantly not normal, would be worth getting their number so that you can simply give them a call and save yourself the trip in case they do not have stock in.
 
Iv'e had a Iphone 3g 8gb and a Iphone 3gs 16gb for probably 2 maybe 3 years now. I was due for an upgrade and heard that the Xperia play just came out for AT&T for $50. I mosey on down to my local AT&T store and bought it. After only having my new xperia play for 3 days I can safely say F**K the iphone. The xperia play is nothing short of amazing. If you have the chance to buy it don't think about it just do it, you will not be sorry.
 
seriously, one good point of owning an iphone over an android phone...
(i'm sad right now of saying this but) the iphone's screen reacts way better than most of android phone i've played with

Rofl, I'd like to see the iPhone play deadspace, NFS: shift and crash bandicoot as well as the play
 
Iphone is overrated and XPlay is underrated. It's up to you, Iphone is great and poshhh. If your a gamer XPLay is way to go, it's cheap, memory upgrade is cheap too. in terms of games you can have both screen and the game pad. This is just the new version , the 2nd one will be better, esp with the analog touch pad that needs some calibration. I like it, the camera actually looks better than my wife IP4Gs even that IP is 8million Pix.
 
I've noticed any problems with the analouge pads seem to be down to individual games rather than any problems with the hardware. Rainbow Six and Battlefield I've noticed have some issues, but Dead Space is practically flawless. You'd think you were using real sticks.
 
Yes, I'd have to agree with you dj. The controls in Star Battalion also suffer from time to time. I think that physical thumbsticks would have been easier for developers to work with, because it seems everyone interprets differently how you actually use those analogue pads...
