iPhone fans are trying so hard.

Ok, I'm curious. When a carrier changes the terms in the middle of your contract, you have the option to decline those changes and have a free "out", do you not? So, any at&t customer that wanted to get out of his/her contract could do so without an ETF on June 1? I'm fairly certain this is correct.

It's only for new contracts after June 1st aka for the new iPhone release.

LOL!

First, nobody gives a crap about anything outside the US. New Zealand means nothing, to anybody, except the 50 people that live there.

People in Canada get screwed on decent smartphones, and those in asia get much better stuff than we do. So those points are pretty moot.

Second, He says that tethering wont be free. It already is and has been free with HTC Sense tethering, and other apps like PDAnet. Its not "built in", but its there and available.

Third, He says "you cant builda reputation on what you are going to do" but spends most of his time rebuking Froyo features based on features that might be in iPhone OS 4.0.

So Google is pretending they will do XYZ in the future when the OS is already out, while Apple has proven they can do it now with an OS that wont be released for atleast a month or more? WTF?

Another case of Apple people thinking that Apple invented everything, even if they came out with it 10 years later.

Wow that was a crappy article.

The only thing I agree with though is the Multitasking because it will be on the new iPhone. So multitasking isn't really a advantage to Android.

lol, dem apples boys is scared. with android 2.2 excitement and now EVO release to combat the recent announcement of OS4 and the leaked pix of iphone 4g...id be scared too...

Isn't it still not true "multitasking" on the iphone. From what I understand it's still not an across the board feature and essentially it freezes an existing app and then starts it up again from where it left off. So you still can't have multiple applications "running" at the same time (other then maybe music + internet, etc..).

lol i skimmed through that article and all i got from it is that some iphone users (like the poster) is afraid of another smartphone surpassing the iphone. technology is advancing so much eventually another phone will surpass the Evo one day. its all about progression. can people just give props where its due and being a technology fan give the Evo the praise it deserves? even though im not a fan of the iphone i still acknowledge the advancements it has contributed to the smartphone community.

hand the poster his blankie and his pacifier and put him in time out.

iPhans are going to be in tears when they sit next to me actually multitasking why they play start-stop games. When they see that you can't really toggle, it'll sink in.

I am/was an iPhone convert. Like the phone and love the apps. It is unfortunate but the EVO has jumped ahead of the iPhone and not just a little, but a LOT (not to mention Sprint being a much better provider than AT$T).

I am getting my EVO June 4th at 0900. Already have a buyer for my iPhone from someone at work. Can't wait for my new phone.

itll be interesting when in a year or so history repeats itself and android does what microsoft did to apple back in the day...not of fanboy of any certain product...im willing to try any platform (only one i have yet to try is webOS)...anybody else feel like this is already happening? or am i completely off base?

well not really what microsoft did to apple (although they had a big part in it) but what apple did to themselves...how microsoft chose to sell licenses to any company making desktops and just getting their product out there to as many people as possible while apple just stuck with one product (well cant say for sure one product) and updating it as time passed forcing themselves into becoming a niche product...i feel like this is happening again with iphone vs. android...i would add microsoft in there but their OS is severely lacking 6.1 was horrible IMO after using it for a year...i never got to try 6.5 and havent really read up on winmo 7...and i am only speaking on the iphone only...i cant speak for ipad/ipod because really nothing out there can compare to those...ipad might/will have competition in the near/distant future but as far as mp3 players go...ipod changed/took over the game...if anybody disagrees speak up i enjoy civil(non-heated) debate...or if any of my information is wrong...not that i put any stats in there...please feel free to correct me

i'm tired of this too. just pick something you like and enjoy it. but i really do hate iphone fanbois. i like technology and anyone who does anything innovating that i like. i give praises to those you deserve it and not just cause it has a fruit on the back of the phone. fyi..i have an imac and truly love it.

I don't see Apple going away anytime soon, but it better pay attention to Android because its gotten a lead in many different areas. I hope this inspires Apple to up its game because I love competition. Without competition, we would probably be on Intel Pentium II 300MHz by now. AMD forced Intel to up its game big time.

Well...honestly this is where the iPhone does multitasking better IMO.

I believe developers can choose how their apps handle multitasking. Most will opt for the pause, but some will have it still running when switching apps. This was demoed with the Pandora and Skype app.

So, IMO, the iPhone does multitasking better because it saves battery life by pausing apps that don't need to be running and runs certain apps in the background. By comparison Android runs everything in the background, which sucks down battery life.

Well, it's easy to make 7 points when you change the definitions of words like "mobile hotspots", or open apps.

that article was aboard

iPhone fans are trying so hard. Unfortunately (for them) this is a horrible attempt at "debunking" what Android has over iPhone OS. The EVO & Froyo are really stirring up the shit.

Seven ways PC World is wrong about the iPhone-Android matchup

To each his own. iPhone users have always had the pleasure of laughing at others on the different carriers because they have the latest and greatest. Now they have to find every reason under the sun to justify being locked in a contract with high paying service plans and a phone that is becoming sub par to the rest.

Personally I can care less about iPhone's and their users. I purchased one years ago and quickly returned it because I just did not get what all the hype was about. I am glad I did...now I get to move on to bigger and better things....like a 4.3 inch screen...hehehehe.

It's all about what you're comfortable with. I can actually see where Google/Android could give Apple a run for its money. Does it mean that they will just die off? Absolutely not. I myself am impressed with both companies coming out with their products. I prefer to have Android over Iphone for a lot of reasons. I don't dare to knock Apple. I just wish they would keep up with the rest of the things that are happening out there. The EVO will certainly set standards and when the iphone catches up, the ones that will benefit from it all is we the consumers.
