iPhone fever!!!

you take angelina..
i will get jennifer...

brad can have Jobs!

Other way around buddy. I think Brad is an idiot for dumping Jen for Jolie. Ok sure sneak into her trailer and nail her while making 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' (she was pretty hot in that one), but don't go dumping Jen and have babies with that nut job.

iPhone has restrictions on how Verizon can sellt he iPhone? WTH??

Just got off the phone trying to order the iPhone(for my wife, so relax guys:p).
In the past when I upgrade, i always call because they'll allow you to put the price of the phone on your bill. This way I can pay half this month and half next. Feels better on the wallet this way.
She said I could still do that on any phone except the iPhone. She said it wasn't Verizon. It was one of Apples restrictions.

That just seems crazy to me... Wasn't planning on spending $400 this morning...

Like what for example? Androids and iPhones both allow...

1- Access to the Web

Except Flash

6- And both provide easy access to applications through two equivalent (for the most part) Markets

Except that if you have an iPhone you can only access that market via your computer, and iTunes.

Let's extend this list a little bit...

Widgets.
Folder Access
Mp3's as ringtones
True multitasking
I mean, I could go on, but we all already know that out of the box iOS is inferior to out of the box Android.

I appreciate your interest in my blog guys.

Just want to make clear that:
I really don't develop feelings for brands, hence I do not hate Apple or iProduct*.

Unfortunately I got tired of the great product story and apple FUD.
I mean, have you guys seen the iPhone 4 advertisement? It not only gives no technological perspective but it's pure lies.
-we've developed special glass... scratches like plastic
-no one has ever used an antenna this way... because it doesn't work

This and the more subtle piggy back riding. The mighty 1GHZ A4 CPU that finally proved to be 7-800 mhz.

I won't really say it totally sucks. But the truth is there are far better options out there.

Consider my blog if you like for cold facts. Can an OS do that or can it not?
It's no question "yeah but do you really need that? no one needs that".
Well one day you might. A good OS will not disappoint you whatever you would throw at it.

I exchange vCards maybe 3 times a year. Bit for those 3 times I won't waste my time by typing down an email so I can send a phone number.
There's Bluetooth for that.

People who believe their opinions are better than others tend to be more of the alpha-male, they want to lead the pack. They say, "common guys, lets go this way. This way looks the best to me".

People who believe other people have better opinions than themselves, don't trust their own instincts, they tend to be followers. They would say, "just point me in the direction you think is best for me".

When you get into a chat like this, a lot of those who think they know the best path will stand up and say so. That's just the way it is.

That's why I made the iPhone fever. No more alpha male and guido banter.
It's as clear as
1-1
1-0
0-0
...

Simply no beating around the bush. Probably completely no fun since it makes fanboys go blind with rage.

It's a shame that other can't be as perceptive as you who just instinctively knows that I am right ;)

But... but... There's no Apple Logo on an Android phone! And there's too many buttons!

Well I dig your Nexus, I like the whole concept of an open phone and all that it stands for. I'm really hoping they have a Nexus with a 4.3 inch screen when it comes time to upgrade. I would jump on that! However I have a personal beef with AT&T.... so my instincts tell me you're half right.

Ah, an optimist ... you could have easily said i was half wrong ;)

Apple fans are snowblinded by the sexiness of Apple tech. It is slim, light, curvy, and just plain sexy. I won't deny it. However, there is more to life than sexy. But since they bought the most expensive phone they could find, they just have to convince themselves it is better somehow, and since most people don't know much about the hardware inside the phone, sexy is all they can really go off of.

But just because something is expensive doesn't make it the 'BEST'. 'Best' is so subjective that someone who throws it around too much loses pretty much all credibility with me. That is like saying the Bugatti Veyron is the best car on the planet, when in reality it only does one or two things far better than anything else and actually fails in nearly everything 99% of people want a car to do. Who wants a car that costs six figures to change the tires? And who needs a car that gets single digit gas milage? The list of things not practical about that car can go on, but there are still people who will call it 'the best'.

The iPhone does sexy very well. It did innovative very well too. It failed on multitasking and widgets and a couple other things that some phone users may feel is important, but the bottom line is that it isn't a terrible phone. Hating it just because they hate you is childish. It isn't a terrible phone and no more worthy of anybody's hate than a Motorola Razor. What people need to do is get used to the fact that 'BEST' is relative. If someone wants a phone that an idiot could use but still have the sexy factor and lots of neat functions, then an iPhone isn't a bad choice. You are limiting yourself in ways that probably don't matter to you, but as long as you are happy, then go for it.

Personally, I believe that any real 'geek' in the market for a smart phone would not go with an iPhone. The options are too limited for the phone to give them much satisfaction. However, there are a lot of ways to customize the iPhone without needing to learn anything about terminals or adb or anything like that. And it is an interface that many of them are familiar with, so it is comfortable. A real 'geek' interested in modifying their phone to be different from everybody else would clearly go with an OS like Android. It doesn't make Android 'BETTER' though. It just makes it better for that person.

Ok, I'm done rambling. I just wish people would be a little more objective with their evaluations of other products. Just because I'm a die hard motorcycle lover doesn't mean I don't appreciate a vehicle with four doors once in awhile. Open your minds to the possibility that not everybody has the same values as you and may not see the world the same way. You'll be happier if you do.
