I would take that $20 billion number with a grain of salt. Keep in mind, the same reports that made that claim also said that Apple would be releasing an iPhone 4s AND an iPhone 5 today. So, so far, there is nothing here but rumors that haven't been made true (and one appears to be a fail). Since the iPhone 5 appears to be a myth, I'd bet the $20 billion dollars for iPhone's is too.

This will absolutely SCREW up the network. It is a horrible decision by a horrible board of directors trying to save a sinking ship, that is not going to work by adding a phone that is a bandwidth HOG!!
Sprint network will crash within a month of starting it.
Absolutely the WORST business decision from a company that is already struggling to keep up. I am preparing to jump ship to AT&T once the carnage starts.
Sprint should be focusing on EXPANDING their current network to make it better. I would gladly pay another $10 a month for my EVO if they made a contract to guarantee that 4G will expand rapidly so I have a chance to be closer to a 4G network than 250 miles.

They're working on that now, supposedly. Its called Network Vision. More to come Friday Oct. 7.
Does the iPhone actually use more bandwidth than other smartphones? I'm seriously asking, I have no idea.
I have no problem with Sprint getting the iPhone. iPhone = more customers = more money to upgrade their network. Fine with me.

Overreact much, lol? I don't think it will be nearly as bad as you are expecting. Now could they possibly cap data some years from now if the subscriber rates begin to juice up, maybe. That's some time off in the future though.
So if sprint sold an extra million photons that would be better than, adding the iphone because the iphone in your mind is more data hungry?

That would make sense if 4G was more widespread. Maybe that person doesn't have 4G in their area.

My theory is that the iPhone 4S was actually the iPhone 5 until Apple realized they were already way behind the curve again with quad core processors supposed to be hitting Android phones next quarter. Then they changed the name before releasing the phone so they didn't look as bad. This is just my theory though based on absolutely no evidence so take it as such.
Hopefully customers realize it is crap and don't buy it.

I have had an Android for over a year starting with the I-1 and now the EVO 4g. I realy love the evo, but I am getting tired of the your phone is no longer connected, your phone is connected BLUETOOTH BS no help in sight...no fix.....HTC/Sprint cannot find anything to help fix it.
So maybee the I-Phone is not a bad way to get someone to fix the screwups with the Android OS...

This sounds like an isolated issue. I used the EVO 4G for 15 months and Never had this problem, nor have I heard of anyone with this problem. I'd try a factory data reset.

Have you even seen iOS 5 yet? Basically all the new features are copied right from Android. Except when the fruit does it, they call it "innovation."

I'm not leaving. Android is better in EVERY possible way. The only improvements in iOS 5 are rip-offs from Android.

Meh. I followed the whole "Let's Talk iPhone shindig yesterday; the iPhone was impressive, but not too impressive. Now, when they start sending out Ice Cream Sandwich OTA, that'll be impressive.
I wouldn't be so harsh on the iP4S
Lets keep in mind, from a performance standpoint, the iP4S will be the most powerful smart phone in the world. Having a small screen detracts from this fact, but the iP4S will be able to chew up anything you throw at it without breaking a sweat.
The A5 and PowerVR SGX543MP2 is an utterly insane combo, even besting the incredible Exynos and Mali400.
It's not a bad phone by any means. And hopefully Sprint's network press conference tomorrow will alleviate any concerns about 3G speed.

But all the restrictions of the iPhone make all that power worthless... The iPhone will always only be good for the apps and games
User experience, apps, and games are a HUGE factor in what people choose to buy.
Also, the restrictions are over stated. I have never rooted any of my android phones, and I don't intend to. I want a phone that works out of the box. Thankfully my E4GT does, as did my Nexus S 4G

It's like being in the TouchWiz app drawer all the time and the one button navigation is very frustrating, and the customization of it is that of a "feature phone". By restrictions I didn't mean rooting, I meant how everything has to be done with itunes (which I don't use), restrictions of downloading files from the browser, the lack of apps to change look and feel of phone (i.e. Handcent, GO launcher, WidgetLocker). It's like having to wear an ugly uniform that everyone else is wearing

Nothing is more important than user experience. This is what draws people to a device, creates an emotional attachment and makes people repeat customers. The Atrix for example. All of it's ballyhooed technical abilities and it sucks ass to use. Horrible UX. The Photon isn't any better.
Apple is probably the only company that understands the importance of UX.
90% of android devices feel like shit to use. I can't make it through 30 seconds with most android phones before I feel like vomiting. The Nexus S, and GS2 are the exceptions. Don't even get me started on honeycomb. HTC sorta gets it. Sense is just okay
My phone is my number 1 travel companion. I do everything on it. I use it more than a PC or my ASUS Transformer. The last thing I want to feel is dread when it comes out my pocket. User experience makes all the difference.

And with an iPhone you don't get user experience, you get whatever Apple wants you to experience which isn't really great at all (imo).

I have used 2 different Bluetooths, and this all began after the last upgrade. it did not happen before.
I will try the reset to see if that helps.
I posted about this problem here and on the evo forum got no help from anyone. This is the first indication of something to try
There is no way I would get rid of my EVO for this small problem just wish it would go away

I like TouchWiz and I'm so over rooting. I'm still on the fence about a 3rd phone being the iPhone.

Tens of millions of iPhone users would disagree with you.
I love my Photon, and I love Android. I loved my Evo before that. Many things about Apple's products bug me, especially the damn "you must connect this to a computer" thing that plagued all version of iOS up until 5. But saying you don't get a user experience with an iThing is disingenuous. You most certainly do. It's just that for you and me, Android provides a better one. I've met enough people frustrated by Android to know it's not a one-size-fits-all OS. And that's good, because it means we'll continue to see improvement and innovation.
