iPhones??

I think Android has left out features also for older devices. i still can't make any sense as to why Google Now doesn't work in 4.0 or below, it's just a search app, even the iPhone 3GS works with it, so i know it has zero to do with hardware limits.

On the 3gs it's missing features, such as notifications, yes? And not available if you go back too far on iOS revisions?

Don't know, I guess they want the whole experience out there on Android without the expense of legacy support for either platform.

:dontknow:

I do know that it was good to go if you tweaked ICS at the root level. I ran it that way.

Although, the formal name for tweaked ICS is Jellybean for most people.

Agree 100%, it's not hardware.

How do you get spoken turn by turn navigation on an iPhone 4 with Maps?

That's not a hardware problem either.

These sort of disconnects go both ways.

Nothing is perfect.

I gotta say, that used to be the case but its sort of a mac windows debate. Ios works seemlessly out of the box (android "does" as well but..) and android has more functionality.

In short, ios is for lazy people who don't have any desire to do anything meaningful with their device and outrageously over pay for their devices.

That last paragraph was a little biased, but what the heck :p

the Google Search app is what has Google Now. since all the Android phones run the search app, it just seems lazy of Google to make Now a JB feature only. i mean, they all have the necessary hardware it needs, GPS, etc. and i do know the new Maps works as far back as FroYo, so it makes no sense to not support everything Maps supports.

Android, certainly surpasses the technology and quality of the iPhone. The price difference is tremendous and the features are the same, if not better. Another thing is, if you want the newer iPhones you have to get them on contract and pay high-dollar. Also, if you wanted the iPhone 4, most of the people that I know updated to iOS 7 received a lack of features and stability that the iPhone 4S+ came with. It's really, you're choice. But I would say Android is the superior.

Agreed.

Not everywhere. A SIM-free 16GB iPhone 5S is comparable in price to a similar Android 'flagship handset' here in the UK.

On a new contract or extension on my US carrier, that's $150.

I expect that to come down per usual. The SGS4 is only $50 on contract now.

New flagship Androids go for anywhere from $150 to $250 on contract at launch.

A few weeks ago there was a leak/rumor that the iPhone 5s will be reduced by $100 in May. Article:
In addition, the same report indicated that the price of the iPhone 5s would drop to $100 in May for unspecified reasons.

Not only that Slug, but you can get an unlocked iPhone with a contact for "free" in the UK. Yes I know there is no such thing as a free lunch and an equivalent contact on an unlocked SGS4 or HTC1 will be around

I have one of each, and the one thing that drives me crazy about the iphone is that it doesn't have the predictive keyboard! Seems like such a small thing to get hung up, lol, and all the Apple users I talk to say I'll get used to it and they can type without even looking at the phone now, but I really miss it. I was even going to jail break it just to be able to use touch pal x, which I have in my HTC, but evidently you still can't use it for chat apps, just the memo pad and a few other things. So depending on what I want to do I either use the android or the iphone, but if I could only keep one I think it would be the android all the way. I am just way too used to the predictive keyboard doing half the work for me, lol.

Download SwiftKey, it's a paid app but we'll worth it for the prediction

SwiftKey for the iPhone??? I love that for Android too, I had no idea I could get that for the iPhone!! I so don't mind paying for a GOOD app like that!! Thanks you just gave my iPhone a whole new life!!
