iPod help

Ok for some random reason my iPod touch restarts today and now whenever I open an app (third party) it just closes instantly before the app even takes the whole screen. I don't want to restore it yet and this wasn't the first time it randomly restarted so WTF is wrong with it?

Have you tried the iPod reboot method (hold the home button and the power button and don't let go of either one of them until you see the Apple logo on the screen)?

If the hard reboot Frisco suggested doesn't work, I think it might be worth a trip to the Genius Bar... Ideally you can figure out how to reproduce the problem at-will, since you mentioned that this wasn't the first time it started to do this.

I have tried the reboot already, sorry I forgot to mention that. But it really is just a random occurrence I think since I don't even use my iPod as much anymore.
