Help Irritating restarts

For some reason my Hero will do a restart almost every time I exit out of the browser. The only way I know to exit is by pressing the hard Home button. And now it's started happening sometimes when exiting other apps like the built-in weather app.

Anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for it? It's so irritating when I have to wait for it to reboot. By reboot I mean going to the white screen with the green HTC and on, eventually getting back to the home screen and being able to use it.

yes, i'm having this problem too - it started happening out of no where and seems to be getting more frequent. i don't know of a fix but i'm not rooted - i'm not sure if that'll help people solve the problem!

Press the back Button -

There is also an app out there that will give you the 4 main keys on your touch screen.
Don't THINK it requires Root access -
can't remember the name...sorry.

sorry, i forgot to mention i use the back button, not home - but what do u mean the 4 main keys on your touch screen?? b/c this is among a list of a few other problems i'm having so i was just going to tell best buy and see if they can't figure it out of give me a new phone, lol

By 4 main buttons I mean - Menu Home Search and back
they are on the Touch screen (soft keys) in lieu of hard keys.

If best buy can't fix -I recommend this.

I don't know how long it will last, but at least for a few days I've not had a single "reboot".

I turned off the phone, removed the battery for a minute, then put it back in and powered up the phone.

Like I said, I've not had a single reboot when exiting from the browser or at any other time. We'll see how long it lasts, but at least this is a good start.

Probably getting low on internal memory. Try this: menu/setting/applications/manage applications...hit menu again, and then sort by size, then go to each app and clear cache. DO NOT Clear Defaults.

Are you thinking of "Button Saviour"? Unfortunately, it is a root only app.

I've been doing that for quite some time as I have lots of apps on my phone and getting the "low space" alert. I've managed to get space back up by doing what you said and getting rid of an app or two. But that did nothing to help the "reboot syndrome". Doing the soft reset seems to have done the trick. It's still working fine without a single reboot no matter what I do. So I'll remember this if it ever starts acting up again.
