Help Is 90% of Memory Used Normal? (all the time)

I have 42 apps running... I'm Droid X OTA Gingy... Most of the apps are Verizon's crap. I have LPP, Swiftkey, some other apps that also continuously run in the background, but I don't feel any of them are unnecessary...

Sometimes the phone gets sluggish, and it must be because of the memory usage is so high already... any ideas?

I know some may say its normal, but when 91% of my memory is being used, something seems wrong...

No, when 91% of memory is being used it's exactly right. It's the way Android manages memory to give you the best mobile experience. If there is free memory, Android will save past used apps in a cached state or load frequently used apps expecting you'll use them again. Keep in mind that these apps in memory aren't actually running but just sitting there waiting to run. They have zero impact on the operation of your phone with the exception of when you try and load an app that is not cached in memory. Then non-running apps will be cleared from memory to make room for the launched app.

9 times out of 10, that is the exception rather than the rule.
