Is an Iron Man/Batman/Hi-tech styled theme possible?

You know the type of computer technology you see on movies like Iron Man or Batman? Where the computers look amazing and do those really cool things? Is there a way that this type of styling could be done on a Droid X?

I don't mean anything that has pictures of Iron Man or Batman or whatever in the background...I mean more along the lines of something that it looks like Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne would be using. I always though that'd be cool.

Just a question :)

Here here. I, too, am a tasteless, tactless android user, with no restraint, like jbhumph ;)

Steven runs.

dear jbhumph i am sorry, for my fellow forum posters, see we are a very jovial and happy bunch of users and like to make jokes...but your question would have a better time in the android themes section of this glorious forum. i hope you get your answer soon though because i would love to use that theme!

Notice his response, above. No need to apologize. He took it in the good fun it was intended. :D

oh i know, i was just making sure he knew we were being funny and that his question would go better answered in the section for themes

LOL No I can take a joke....except for that Steven guy...man is he so cruel to me in his postings!! :D

I didn't even think about the theme forum...duh...I usually only look at the Droid X area. I'll look there cause I know I'm not the only geek here, right? :p

First of all, define high tech. Holographic? Clean Steel? Matrix?

Tony Stark uses holographic control panels, something that simply isn't possible unless if you want to leave the camera on all the time.

Plus we all know that real computer users uses DOS. :D

I completely understand what you're saying. Not sure what styling I'm really requesting, just something that is pleasing to the eye but has that movie high tech style to it....yet easy to use still. I dunno, does that make sense? lol

I know what you mean, but the problem is that what you are thinking of is probably not what I am thinking of. I have made themes for SE phones in the past, and from experience it's much better to lay out clear instructions of what you want the theme to look like from start. Otherwise all you end up with is a complete mess.

I suppose I'm thinking something kind of like this (again without the Iron Man imagery...similar color schemes, etc. with other basic or similar background imagery as seen)
Iron_Man_Concepts_39.jpg

combined with something similar to the iPhone/iPod/whatever app named J.A.R.V.I.S. but again...more of the movie styling look moreso than having Iron Man schematics running with "Stark" logos, etc...

Consumer Electronics Daily News: Free App - Tony Stark's (Iron Man) J.A.R.V.I.S.

The second shows how widgets already on one's phone could possibly be skinned to blend with the other theme work? I honestly know nothing about creating themes, etc.....I just have always thought this would be truly amazing on a smartphone :)

I too would be very interested in this. Something like JARVIS would be great, especially if it was all interactive.

Now we are talking.

Theme is a pain to make on Android. You can't really theme apps or the launcher without doing some serious coding work (what with all the md5 checksum etc.). It's better to stick to existing widgets.

It should be possible to produce dock icons for launcherpro. We can also make shortcuts using desktop visualizer.

Not so sure about the blue though.

I am running Launcher Pro and I definitely agree that icons/docks could be made via images to fix those....anyone here up for the challenge on this? I really think it would be one of the coolest things if done correctly :D

How's this for a prototype?

Clock widget at the moment is SiMi Clock. There are probably more appropriate clock widgets out there. I am currently stumped by what to fill to fill the rest of the screen with.

One reason why I am hesistant to use blue is because of launcherpro widgets. By default they are grey, and it's not easy to change that.

Wallpaper is just something I grabbed off Google image. Suggestions are welcome.

That's an app, not a theme. The hard part is to get those boxes around the weather and/or time widgets. Unless if someone who knows how to edit apk files step in, they will have to be part of the background.
