I found Splashtop Remote as a free app of the day on Amazon once, and it works perfect so far. Works over network as well as WiFi, and even will mirror sound from the PC, through the phone (if I play music on my desktop it comes through the phone, even though it has a tiny lag to that - which is really only noticeable if I'm AT the computer listening to both).

+1 for splashtop remote. Works great for what I need. Got it free also, but I think it was $4.99 regular price.

I had LogMeIn for my iPhone and really loved it. I was an IT contractor at the time and had LogMeIn installed on all of my customer computers. I could get a call anywhere, log in and solve it on the spot in many cases.

I don't know if Splashtop maintains a persistent connection out to the internet on the clients (i.e. through firewalls without a pass-through port) and a list of all devices that you have the client application on...? That was the best part of LogMeIn.

I use realVNC on all my android and ios products... love it... what does logmein offer above vnc? Should i be using it instead?

Been using Logmein on my handset since my HTC INC and now on the gnex and couldnt be happier. The same purchase I made with the inc works with the gnex. I have around 50 customers systems on for remote support... Top notch stuff, especially for free!

The best thing about LogMeIn is that you install the client app on the computer, and it registers itself with your account on LogMeIn. This does two things - A) you don't have to have a pass-through on the firewall, since it's an outbound connection that establishes the desktop sharing. B) you have a list of all of your client computers when you log in, so you don't have to remember IPs or use dynamic DNS clients or anything. You just log in, and boom, every computer you have access to is sitting there.

CheeseJam; we use TeamViewer's helpdesk stuff at work (where you give the client a code), do they have a style of app similar to LogMeIn where the computers maintain persistent outbound connections?

Another LOGMEIN user here. Works great. I spent $30 for the app but have been using it for over 2 years. I have my 3 computers (laptop, desktop, work), my parents 2 computers and a couple other family members. I troubleshoot for all of these individuals. I no longer need to walk them through stuff over the phone...I just do it for them. Much easier and more time efficient.

On the phone, they recently updated the app and now have "touch-to-click" activated - like the iphone has had for a while. This means you can touch anywhere on the phone screen and it will move the mouse and click in that spot. Works great!

Another vote for teamviewer. It's free for personal use and once pcs are linked to an account you can control them from pc, android, ios and they have a weblogin for control through a browser.

The exe also has a run only option which makes quick support very accessable without needing to install anything

worth a look....
