Help Is anyone else's Facebook app freaking out?

So, I learned today that FB is going to update direct to the app, instead of thru Google Play. Well, It TRIED to update, but it's sitting there, spinning its wheels, stuck at 0%... It won't update, and it's killing my battery cause I can't get it to stop trying to update. I even uninstalled FB and rebooted, and it wont die, ts like a friggin digital zombie.

anyone have a similar experience? or any ideas? Short of exorcism?
 
I'm pretty sure it'll go away after a reboot. I honestly gave up on that facebook app. It eats up a lot of memory so I just use the browser and the messenger app
 
I was pretty sure it would go away with a reboot too, but it didn't. I'm on reboot 6, and it's still there... mocking me...

I've re-installed and uninstalled FB like 3 times, cleared cache, cleared data, all combinations of the above, to no avail... I'm about ready to factory reset the damned thing.
 
that happen to me yesterday.i was driving around los angeles all day... once i got home my phone linked to my wifi and it went away.

it was weird. it went away after doing it 10 hours straight.

+1 on the web interface for it.

No questions of power/data use with pushed updates, it updates when I hit the bookmark and that's all I need anyway.

yeah, so I went ahead and did a Factory Reset. I could not get it to stop, and i was watching my battery level plummet.


...I'm not going to reinstall Facebook. It is of the Devil.
 
no problem here ecept they still havent fixed the "no network connection" error that has plagued me for a while now
 
Are you guys getting that build 1044 or something like that? It wouldn't go away either for me. I got rid of by going to current downloads and I manually canceled it. Has not been back since and Facebook works fine.
 
Somehwat related, every time I went on the FB site on Dolphin browser (normally I use Opera but it was doing that damned "fonts gathering" crap) it crashed.

I'm using the stock ICS browser, and its crashing on the m.facebook page too. Its been doing it for about 4 days now. Usually the crash happens on a page refresh. Tried the dolphin browser, and it did it too. At first I thought it was my phone or my data connection, but it only does it on facebooks page, and it doesn't matter if I'm using 4g data, or wifi, still does it.
