Root Is anyone using safestrap instead of CWM bootstrap?

I was considering trying out safestrap instead of CWM bootstrap because I like the idea of powering your phone on and getting directly into recovery. Plus when using this you are actually installing a whole new system and your other system doesn't get touched!

This would have been great when I bootlooped after installing a ROM a couple days ago!

Yeah I use it as well for the same reason. I don't care much about booting an alternate rom I just want to be able to boot into recovery if necessary. I would rather that it use the same folder as a clockwork mod recovery but I guess you can't have everything! The best of both worlds would be cwm or roms implementing the boot into recovery.

I want to try it, but I'm having trouble understanding the process of updating your first rom installed with safestrap. I want to safe boot into ICS Alpha but still be able to update Shift3r...

I am now using it to play with ICS Alphas from dhacker29 in "safe" mode, but to install anything into my primary rom (purity) in "unsafe" mode I need to reinstall CWM recovery until I am done playing whereupon I reload Safestrap. If there is a way around this, please share! (I do wish they had used some other nomenclature than safe and unsafe.)

As I indicated earlier the only reason I use safestrap is the absence of a better way to boot into recovery. Given nandroid backup and recovery, the alternate boot feature is unnecessary, IMHO.
