Is it possible for makers of chainfire or similare root toolkits to spy on people that use there methods. or if i have a antivirus would it detect a threat:confused:

I would say this is not the correct place to talk about toolkits to spy over someone device I think this thread is going to be closed. :)

I don't think the OP is inquiring about how to use toolkits for spying, but rather if they have the ability and if they should worry about it;)

Personally, as Woohoo guy suggested Chainfire and another that comes to mind, the Casual rootkit (AdamOutler), I wouldn't worry about. They are both respected devs:)

It might, but it's more likely to throw up a 'false positive'. This is because many Android root methods utilise exploits in the Linux kernel which have been fingerprinted as suspect by AV companies.

The safest method of ensuring that a root process is safe and secure is by looking at what other users say about it; anything remotely suspicious will quickly be discovered and publicised.
