Root Is CWR the only recover?

Coming from an HTC we had several options for recoveries.... Not that I mind cwr, but I was accustomed to a different style recovery.
 
No - There is a version of Team Win RP that came out for the Note. I'm using it and it works very well. You can find it on Team Win's web page.
